With Capt. Kirk away on OSR duty, Capt. Kevin and Jeff welcomed in Tru Luvin’ Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia. He had some great stories, shared some great tips and product recommendations (they’re seriously worth the listen…check ’em out), and he can also take you on some great charters! Visit the Tru Luvin’ Fishing website to find out more and book your trip!
If you’re trying to follow along on the snapper situation, you’ll also want to listen in as Danny Patrick from Coastal Angler magazine checked in. He’s been following the story for a while, and he shared the latest updates with us.
In entertainment news, Jeff got a chance to see the legendary ’70’s documentary “Tarpon”, which was thought by many to be a myth. A company found it, restored it, and has re-released it in 4K! You can rent it on Amazon Prime or pick up a DVD/Blu-Ray copy on Amazon. To find out more, visit tarpon1973.com .
That’s the question on Capt. Kevin’s mind this week as May comes to a close, and he’s not the only one wondering. Get his thoughts, along with the usual cast of characters, and then let that question percolate in your noggin for a minute.
Could this have been the best May ever?
Maybe the better question is this: is the best May ever going to shift into the best June ever?
Paul Dozier dropped by to visit with the guys and give everybody the rundown on the 2025 Daily’s Old School Kingfish Shootout presented by YellowFin…a tournament that has become one of the area’s most popular and well-respected tournaments ever. Check out their website to learn more.
Of course, if you’re talking about the Shootout, you gotta talk about all the ins and outs of catching kingfish. You can bet you’ll get a lot of tips by listening to this episode.
Looking at the forecast, it honestly couldn’t have been any better for last several days, and it’s looking like the greatness isn’t going anywhere! The guys talked with Paul about that, too.
Last, but most certainly not least, it’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means a lot of fun with family and friends in the outdoors. But more importantly, it’s an opportunity for all of us to give honor to those who paid the ultimate price in service to our great country. Rest in peace, and may God bless you, your families, and the United States of America.
Here’s the deal: when the weather is THIS good – and the fishing is THIS good – it’s got Capt. Kevin thinking we may need to change the name of this show to…
If you know, you know, and unless you haven’t been fishing for the past couple of weeks, you definitely know. The usual cast of characters sure does, so listen in for their chatter about it, and most importantly, find out if the amazing weather is going to continue for the next week.
The news of a 600-acre land swap spread like wildfire over the last day, and the guys were ready to talk all about it. So many memories tied to Guana, and the outdoors family is up in arms – and rightfully so. Listen in for the lowdown, and know the guys will be on top of events as they continue to unfold.
There was lots of outdoors talk, too…because the fishing is fantastic right about now.
Yeah, that’s the word. Capt. Kevin and the crew talk about just how great the weather’s been…and how great the fishing has been as well. Picture perfect! Simply spectacular! Flippin’ phenomenal! Okay, that may be too many exclamation points, but you get the idea.
Will it continue? That’s the question, and Capt. Kevin will do his best to answer it for you on this episode.
There’s nothing like spending time listening to a master tell stories and share insights into what has made them into the legend they are. Capt. Larry Miniard would never admit to being a either a master or a legend, but we all know the truth…so we’ll say it for him.
From top to bottom, front to back, this is a great episode to kick back and enjoy. Go ahead…whatever else you got goin’ can wait!
Jim Croce once sang, “You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you don’t spit into the wind, you don’t pull the mask off the ‘ol Lone Ranger, and you don’t mess around with Slim.” Well, he should’ve added a line about how you shouldn’t trust the weatherman.
“Beautiful weather,” they said.
“Great for fishing,” they said.
They lied.
Capt. Kevin and the Thursday Night Cast of Characters talks about it, and then they give you a forecast you can actually trust on this episode of the Fishing Forecast.
The 2025 Outdoors Show World Tour continued this episode, as the guys headed to Mayport to spend the day at Consignment Boat Sales. Consignment Boat Sales is loaded with great boats for you, and this episode was loaded with great stories for you, too! Everything from sailfish to a Portuguese Man’O’War infestation, and some fun hijinks to boot.
If you saw the news or social media this week, you probably saw Mike Dragich catching a wild gator in the middle of I-95. He joined the show to talk about the experience as well as his gator wrangling background.
Finally, a big thanks to you for making the Outdoors Show what it is. We just found out Feedspot named the Outdoors Show Podcast as one of the Top 100 outdoors podcasts world-wide!
Well, if you’re currently enjoying the weather and the fishing…you’re going to continue to love life. If not, well…
As Capt. Kevin talks about on this episode, with this kind of set up, you’re either a hero or a zero. What are you going to be?
