With Jeff out doing some OSR, Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk invited Capt. Ricky “Hollywood” Poupore to take the trip downtown to Metro Park for the Jax Boat Show! Beautiful boats at a beautiful location…you can’t beat it!
Of course there was a bunch of fishing talk, lots of great gear tips, and even a tasty technique or two popped up in conversation.
Business is definitely picking up in First Coast waters, and if you don’t believe that, you need to listen to this episode. Capt. Kevin checks in with Capt. Ricky, Capt. Leon and Capt. Chip to get the lowdown off-shore and in-shore.
You’ll also get the forecast, which should be a big help to you as you plan out your upcoming week of fishing.
It was quite the week on the water…a tale of two scenarios. One day, it’s beautiful and the fishing was off the chain. The next, not so much.
In any event, there was a bunch to talk about, and the guys sure did just that. And just wait until you check out Capt. Kevin’s story about his return to offshore fishing! LOL
Capt. Kevin was seeing clearly on this episode. Did he get glasses? Nope. Lasik surgery, maybe? Nope again. It was all about how clear the water has been…and how great the fishing has been! Now, everyone’s wondering just how great it’s going to continue to be. Listen in for the forecast and see what the future holds for you and your angling endeavors.
If you listen to the Outdoors Show for the hunting and fishing stories, this is THE EPISODE for you! The guys all had some great stories about everything going on in the woods and in the water. The turkey hunting has been great, the fishing has been great (even though the weather has been, well, not so much), and the guys talk all about it.
Not sure how it happened, but somehow the word “bougie” came up. Chris promptly introduced the guys to ChatGPT, which spit out all kinds of info and led to a discussion of the ultimate bougie loadout for inshore and offshore Florida fishing. The question for you is this: just how bougie an angler are you?
And yes, they talked about the pink moon – it’s the super moon that’ll be overhead tonight. But that wasn’t it – they even got a glimpse into their future, thanks to insight provided by a “celebrity astrologer”. Blame Jeff for that one…
April usually gives us the kind of weather that makes anglers want to do something other than fish, and this April is no different. Capt. Kevin and the usual cast of characters talks about the trouble they’re facing in shore and off shore this week.
But, the question is this: will Crapril last all month long? Listen in to find out what the weather forecast is telling us…
Capt. Kevin and Jeff were broadcasting live from Standard Feed and Seed to celebrate their 79th anniversary! They talked about all the great stuff going on there, all the great stuff they have for sale there, and the amazing deals happening there during the anniversary celebration.
The guys also talked about the viral video featuring a CRAZY charter captain going bonkers on a boater, and called Attorney Brett Hastings to talk about the legal ramifications of the guy’s actions. It was insightful – and to be honest, a little scary – and serves as a cautionary tale for all of us to do everything we can to keep our cool on the water.
And they couldn’t ignore the fact that it’s turkey season, and Jeff had a fantastic turkey hunting story.
Warmer temps, cleaner water…ooooh, things are beginning to get good, aren’t they? Capt. Kevin talked about it with the gang, and took a little time to focus on what’s coming. Will it get even better? Guess you’ll have to listen in to find out!
It was a bittersweet episode for the guys – bitter because they were in studio when they really wanted to be out there for the first day of turkey season.
However, it was sweet because First Coast fishing legend Capt. Dennis Young stopped by the studio to tell some captivating tales about fishing the First Coast since 1972 (the great white stories alone are worth a listen). He also talked with the guys about the state of First Coast fishing today, and what needs to be done to preserve it for future generations. This was can’t-miss stuff…you may even want to have a pen and paper handy to jot down some notes!
And one final thing: if you happened listen to the radio broadcast and heard some weird kind of audio hiccup, it was Jeff’s fault! This version of the show is hiccup-less, so you’ll hear what he said to make Chris jump through some producer hoops.
After taking some time away, Capt. Kevin was back on the water…and it was beautiful! But, as you’ll quickly find out, it wasn’t quite so beautiful for everyone. Listen in for the details on Mother Nature’s good, bad and ugly from the past few days, and more importantly, pay attention to the forecast to see what she’s going to be giving you out on the water.
