  • OS 1367: Great Fishing and TERRIBLE Food

As you would guess, fishing was top of mind for the guys, as the weather on the water was pretty good and the Wahoo Shootout was wrapping up. Paul Dozier checked in with the details, which eventually led to talk about a shark tournament? What could possibly go wrong…

And, as usual, the conversation went a bit sideways. Not even sure how pickle loaf came up, but how did they manage to go from sourdough bread to hog jowls? That journey alone is worth the listen!

    • OS 1366: Good Fishing and Skin Safety

The guys were all back in studio and back at it, as the Mother Nature decided to drop some good weather on us all. Good weather leads to talking about good fishing, of course, but it also comes with lots of sun exposure…and the trouble we can find ourselves in when we get too much of it.  To talk about that, the guys welcomed in Summer Zerbe from Beaches Dermatology for a great discussion about how best to take care of your skin when you’re on the water.

They also tipped a cap to Charlie Hamaker, a local fishing icon who passed away this week. Rest in peace, friend!

Preheat your oven to 325. Season your roast generously on both sides with salt and pepper (Livia’s!) Add to a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 4 hours. Remove the roast from the oven and shred using two forks (If the roast is not pulling apart easily, put it back in the oven for 30 min).  Raise the oven heat to 425. Toss the shredded pieces of roast in the rendered fat and place it back in the oven, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes until the pieces are nice and caramelized
          Serve and enjoy.

Capt. Chip Wingo pulled double duty in the show host chair this week, joining Capt. Kirk to man the ship while Capt. Kevin continued to recover from the gunk.  And what about Jeff?  The big guy was fishing the El Cheapo once again! He checked in and the team hooked a sweet one while he was on the line…pretty cool moment, if you ask us.

Scott Whatley also stopped by to hang with the guys to sprinkle some gunpowder and broadheads in all that fishing talk.

            • Fishing Forecast: It’s Been Another Weird One…

It’s been a week of weirdness over the past seven days, and it even carried over into this episode.  Yeah, kinda weird to start the show off with Capt. Chip Wingo at the helm, but it’s one of those things since Capt. Kevin is under the weather with quite the weird little bug.  But it doesn’t stop there – the weird temps, the weird weather patterns…and a bunch of weird guys to talk about it all this week!

But just how weird will the forecast be for you this coming week? Listen in and find out…
