Capt. Cory Sparks joined Capt. Kevin this week to talk about the great fishing…and the great weather. Capt. Leon and Capt. Chip hopped to talk about the same thing! Imagine that! Yeah, it’s been a great week on the water for sure, but the question is this: Will the great weather continue? Listen in to find out.
So the guys hit the studio this morning wishing they could be on the water instead. As you may or may not know, April is typically the month where you enjoy some great fishing in spite of the lousy weather. Well it’s VERY different this year, and the past several days have been incredible. The guys talked about all the cool catches, and Kevin even managed to land an octopus! Capt. Bryan LeSage also dropped by to talk tuna and the big trip he took recently.
And last, but certainly not least, Jeff, after some prompting, shared his somewhat embarrassing turkey story…but you’ll have to listen to get the details.
So what in the wide world of sports is-a goin’ on in here? Capt. Kevin may be loving it, but he’s still scratching his head about it. Typically, you enjoy the good fishing DESPITE the lousy April weather. But this year, and especially this week, the weather is simply phenomenal. But the question is this: will it continue? Capt. Kevin and Capt. Ricky talk about it…and of course, some of your favorite chime in with their two cents worth as well.
The boys rolled into the studio after one heck of a week, and they had A LOT to talk about! Crazy fishing, a cool turkey story, fun at the Clay County Fair, the after affects of eating asparagus, and more. Yeah, it didn’t take long for things to get sideways…and they never really got back on the tracks!
So what does a charter captain do when he’s got a little time on his hands? Well, if you’re Capt. Ricky, you hop on the ol’ computer thingamajig and check out current forecasts. Sure, it sounds boring, but as you’ll find out in this episode, it’s actually pretty interesting stuff.
The weather forecast is also pretty interesting…you’ll DEFINITELY want to listen in for that as you plan your fishing week.
The boys took their show on the road once again, and this time they headed over to Standard Feed & Seed for their 78th Anniversary Extravaganza! Lots of food, fun and over $3000 in prizes…it was a great way to spend a spring Saturday, that’s for sure.
The talk of the day was the weather…spring is, well, springing. Things are changing, and that’s making waves in the water and in the woods as well.
And, in an another Outdoors Show first, Chicken Poop Bingo was LIVE! LOL
So, yes, REO Speedwagon did come to town this week, but that’s not what this episode of the Fishing Forecast is about. Capt. Kevin and Capt. Ricky were talking about that big, bad, slow-moving monster weather maker that rolled through this week – which, as you would imagine, led to more storm stories. It also led to this question: are we looking at more storms in the upcoming week? Listen in to get the forecast and make your plans.

Well, it’s the first day of turkey in Georgia. And in an amazing coincidence, Capt. Kevin came down with a case of avian flu (if you know, you know). So, with Kevin “under the weather”, Capt. Kirk and Jeff asked some special guests to come in: Domenic Paniccia of Tru Luvin’ Fishing and Dr. Quinton White from JU!
IN AN OUTDOORS SHOW FIRST…Capt. Kevin called in from the blind and called two birds in while on the air! He also called back later in the show to give all the dirty details of Day One.
Domenic, a pro kayak fisherman and guide, as well as a 27-year veteran of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, shared all kinds of great kayak fishing stories, and Dr. White dropped all kinds of knowledge (as he always does).
Dr. White dropped all kinds of knowledge about marine life, provided some expert insight into the latest issues in our waters (and beyond), gave us an OCEARCH update, introduced the crew to the term “cow-paddling”, and dropped a bit of a bomb on us with a personal update! In case you didn’t know, Dr. White is a Jacksonville University Professor of Marine Biology and the Executive Director of Jacksonville University’s Marine Science Research Institute. Find out more about Dr. White
Tru Luvin’ Fishing is a top-notch kayak fishing charter business, as well as a super-fun content brand.

Capt. Kevin and Capt. Ricky sat down in the studio for this week’s episode…and started things off taking a couple loving jabs at Capt. Scott, who was coming down from a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. And why was it such a wretched day, you ask…especially when everybody else seems to be doin’ great? You’ll have to listen in to find out!
You’ll also want to listen for the forecast, which is getting better and better as the season begins to crank up.

The boys were all back in the studio this week, with Jeff telling some tall Texas tales and Capt. Kevin/Capt. Kirk talking about the week that was in First Coast Fishing World. They welcomed in special guest Chief Warrant Officer Adam T. Murray of the United States Coast Guard, who talked about their upcoming Open House on April 13. And of course, the guys talked to him about a bunch of other stuff, including the amazing boats, helicopters and other fancy gear they use to serve our country and keep our waters safe.
