Sometimes, you can just count on it being beautiful. Other times, you can guarantee that it’s just no good for fishing. But good grief, this past week has been a weather roller coaster. Capt. Kevin and Capt. Scott talk about the ups and downs from Mother Nature, and they let you know if the ride will continue as we continue through January.
The boys were back in the studio this week for the first Outdoors Show of 2024, and things were CRAZY! Sure, you can bet they talked fishing and hunting, but this show had A LOT more happening – food, outdoor movies, cruising to Alaska, squirrels on fentanyl (that’s no joke) and a whole lot more!
The new year always brings excitement, anticipation and hope…even if the weather is rather chilly. Capt. Kevin and Capt. Scott were definitely excited this week, and the excitement is kind of contagious (just like the germs that spread from the coughing, sneezing and snotting all the customers are doing these days). But the question is this: will the forecast get them more excited…or kill the excitement altogether?
Capt. Kevin was out with family this week, so Capt. Kirk and Jeff held down the fort as we all bundled up and worked through a VERY brisk couple of days. Obviously, the temps and the wind were the big topic of conversation, but it’s looking like things are going to change. How, you ask? Listen in to find out more.
But regardless of the weather, a lot of people were talking about fishing
Capt. Kevin was out doing the family thing for the holidays, so Capt. Scott and Capt. Ricky held down the fort…and shivered while they did it! Yep – there’s a nip in the air, and it’s carrying over into the water, too. But how will that affect the fishing? You’ll need to listen in to find out, of course!
Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk were back in the studio this week while Jeff called in, and they talked a whole lot about the Christmas show, the weather, fishing the river, and some hunting, of course.
Merry Christmas!
Everyone was on hand at Ringpower for the 2023 OS Christmas Show, where the guys gave away over $50,000 in prizes! Not only were the giveaways happening for three hours straight, but there were lots of great stories, including the greatest story in the history of the Outdoors Show…as told this year by the man behind the madness Grandpa Jimmy!
As always, there was a lot of great fishing, hunting and food discussion happening…and Mother Nature was a lady, holding back the wind and rain for the entire show!
While everyone is gearing up for the holidays, a lot of anglers are gearing down because Mother Nature is shelling out the coal like nobody’s business. Tune in to find out just how bad things have been, and more importantly, if they have a chance at getting any better.
Capt. Kirk was out to see his granddaughter’s graduation (CONGRATULATIONS, MADI!!!!), so Capt. Kevin and Jeff called on Capt. Leon Dana to sit in. There was a whole lot of fishing talk…along with some reminiscing, which is always a great conversation.
Throw in a live, in-studio electric pole saw mishap*, and you’ve got another great show!
*No hosts were harmed in the making of this episode. The same cannot be said of a random studio ceiling tile…
The guys were back together…although it almost didn’t happen, because Capt. Kevin was doing his best Smokey and the Bandit impression to get to the studio on time.
But since Capt. Kevin, Capt. Scott and Capt. Ricky were all able to sit down and talk, it didn’t take long for them to start talking wahoo. The bite has been fantastic, and that’s a good thing for the wahoo tournaments happening right now.
So, will the weather cooperate? Listen in to find out…
