Two is one and one is none. That is to say that when you are packing it is best to pack two (especially if it is something cheap). Because you can't always know what will happen and having a back up will keep you prepared. For something like contact solution or sunglasses, it can really ruin your trip to go without, so why not just pack extra?
For this episode I reflect on conversations with outdoor photographer Jason Stemple. Jason and I were talking on a recent shoot when this topic came up about how he packs. He is constantly on the road and he has photography equipment and fishing equipment he needs to be able to pack up quickly and effectively.
