The Pascagoula Abduction case is one of the most well-known UFO abduction stories in the United States. It involves two men, Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker, who claimed they were abducted by aliens on the evening of October 11, 1973, while fishing on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi.

### The Incident

According to Hickson and Parker, they were fishing off a pier when they heard a strange buzzing sound and saw a glowing blue light. They reported seeing a craft that resembled an oval-shaped object about 30 to 40 feet across and 8 to 10 feet high. The object approached and hovered about two feet above the ground near them.

They claimed that three creatures emerged from the craft and floated towards them. The beings were described as being humanoid in shape but very different from humans. They were about five feet tall, with gray, wrinkled skin, no eyes, slits for mouths, and crab-like pincers at the ends of their arms. The beings supposedly grabbed Hickson and Parker and floated them into the craft.

### Inside the Craft

Inside the craft, Hickson and Parker were subjected to what they described as an examination. Hickson claimed he was examined by a machine that looked like a large eye, which scanned him all over. Parker, on the other hand, fainted out of sheer terror and could not recall much of what happened inside the craft.

### Aftermath

After the alleged abduction, the two men reported the incident to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Initially, law enforcement was skeptical, but after listening to a secretly recorded conversation between Hickson and Parker, they started to believe that something unusual had indeed occurred, as the men appeared genuinely frightened and confused.

### Public Reaction and Investigation

The story quickly gained national attention, and Hickson and Parker were subjected to extensive media scrutiny. They both underwent polygraph tests, which they passed, and psychological evaluations. Some ufologists and researchers found their story credible, while skeptics argued that it was either a hoax or a case of misidentification or hallucination.

### Later Years

Charles Hickson continued to stand by his story until his death in 2011. He even wrote a book about the experience, titled "UFO Contact at Pascagoula." Calvin Parker, who was more reluctant to speak publicly about the event, also maintained that the abduction occurred as described. In recent years, Parker has become more vocal about his experience, even writing his own book, "Pascagoula - The Closest Encounter: My Story."

### Legacy

The Pascagoula Abduction case remains a topic of interest and debate within the UFO community and beyond. It is often cited as one of the most credible and compelling abduction cases due to the consistency of the witnesses' accounts, the lack of evidence pointing to a hoax, and the emotional and psychological impact it had on the two men involved.
