  • Doreen Picard and Susan Laferte Pt. Two
Part 2/2. February 19, 1982. Woonsocket, Rhode Island. 27-year old Susan Laferte and 22-year old Doreen Picard are both attacked in the basement of their apartment house by an assailant who bludgeons them with a pipe. Doreen is killed and Susan remains in a coma for a month, but when she wakes up, she has no memory of the attack. Ten years later, a suspect named Raymond “Beaver” Tempest is convicted of Doreen’s murder and sentenced to 85 years in prison. However, since the prosecution’s case was fraught with problems, Tempest’s conviction is vacated in 2015 and the state is currently deciding whether or not to retry him. Is Beaver Tempest innocent of this horrific crime, or did they have the right guy all along? In this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we examine a very controversial case which has still not reached its final resolution.

After leaving the reception that night, Terri does not return home. Three days later, she is found shot to death inside her vehicle in the parking lot of a Carson City casino. Due to some suspicious behaviour and strange inconsistencies in his story, the investigation soon zeroes in on Tim McClure as the prime suspect. Tim is charged with his mother’s murder in 1992, but the surprising end result only opens up more unanswered questions. Was Terri McClure murdered by her own son or was someone else responsible? • Andrea Yates (Jules & Ashley)
This is a Jules & Ashley Patreon episode......So, If you want to see the type of content offered at Patreon.com/julesandashley here is a bonus episode so you can check it out for yourselves. In this episode Ashley tells me about the story of Andrea Yates, a mother who drowned her five children. This case isn't so cut and dry as there is a strong mental health argument for insanity and along the way so many things are addressed with regards to where the responsibility should fall in this case. We hope you enjoy:)

  • Patreon Sneak Peak: Don Kemp
This is a single episode or a path went minisode. It isn't so mini, it's almost an hour and a half. We wanted to let everyone know what the content will be like on our Patreon feeds, so this is a good way to give it to you and see if you like it. If not, then we have plenty of free episodes to come. Next week we will back to our usual schedule of multi-part episodes:)

November 16, 1982. An abandoned SUV is discovered in the middle of a desolate Wyoming prairie and numerous possessions are scattered all over the highway. The vehicle belongs to Don Kemp, a former New York City ad executive who has left his old life behind and vanished without a trace. In spite of an extensive search of the area, it is four years before Don’s skeletal remains are found on the prairie. However, five months after Don originally disappeared, one of his friends allegedly received a series of bizarre phone calls from him. Did Don die of exposure shortly after abandoning his vehicle? Or was he killed elsewhere before his remains were somehow returned to the prairie years later? Join me for a new episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, as I analyze the very first case to ever be featured on “Unsolved Mysteries”.
