  • We Lied To You...Korea Update And Making February Better Than January

Diana and Tyler talk about how they lied to you last week and they're postponing the reintegrating after long distance until they actually experience it again later this year. They give you a little update on life in South Korea, what they love, how they could see others might feel uncomfortable fully taking advantage of this opportunity, how they're making the most of it, and more. Then they get into how they're going to make February better than January both in their relationship as well as in their health and fitness. For a more detailed look at the episode here is a minute by minute breakdown of the show:

    1 - 2:30 We lied…

2:30 - 8 The peak and pit of the week: workouts, sweep shirts and party dresses, coffee shop heaven, hail and farewells. Unhealthy food and difficulty adjusting to a new normal and finding a consistent workout routine.

8 - 25 Korea life update. We like it! Making the most of where we’re at and taking advantage of the opportunity to see new places. The islands, new restaurants, and cafes. Tyler speaks flawless Korean. Desserts galore. Korean customs we’re learning. Getting punk grinded. Soju. Having the confidence to go out and try new things in a country where you don’t speak the language.

25 - 39 Making February better than January for our relationship and for ourselves individually. Supporting each other better. Afternoon walks, cold showers. Loving my new greens so far. Trying to cook at home more and find our routine again. Overall getting our diet and workouts back on track. Exciting travel coming up.

39 - 41 value of the week: stay saucy & The Daily Stoic book (see below). The show the climb by Jason Mamoa.

  • Long Distance Love

Diana's husband Tyler joins again for the first time since their move to South Korea. They catch up on all of their current peaks and pits and dive into a topic all too familiar for military families, long distance love. Whether you're also a military family experiencing TDYs or deployments, or you just started dating someone from a different state, or if your significant other is frequently on the road for work, you'll relate to this episode. They cover what has helped them in the past, what they need to work on, and what this upcoming year of frequent distance might look like. For a more detailed view, here is a minute by minute breakdown of the episode:

1 - 16 Peak and pit of the week . The ski trip, Korean coffee shop culture is my life now, Tyler’s new job within the squadron, and the Jeonju hanok village. Travel isn’t as seamless as it was in Europe, real life begins again for Tyler.

16 - 57 The topic of the week, long distance relationships. Whether it be dating long distance, TDYs, deployments, or if your spouse travels a lot for work.

Often times the hardest part of distance is coming back together and learning to do life again together.
    Trust.
Have a schedule you stick to of things that make you happy.
Realistic communication expectations, and learning to find flexibility in those.
Loving with your love language long distance.
Being 100% yourself, apart from each other as opposed to “completing” each other. Not having your life revolve around that person.
Sprinkling in events throughout the time apart of things to look forward to.
Watching the same tv show together again.

  • The Blair To Your Serena: Making Friends As An Adult

Diana is talking all about making friends as an adult on the podcast today.
But you know what's cool? She's actually going through this right now. Her and Tyler just arrived to their new Air Force base just a few days ago and are walking the walk on making new friends as an adult. Tune in to hear the advice she's been given in the past, and what is ringing most true to her this time around of making new friends at a new base.
    Minute by minute breakdown:
    1 - 2 Life update.

2 - 10 The peak & pit of the week. Getting back into routine, looking forward to diving back into career goals post-Italy, meeting the new squadron in South Korea.
Leaving Thailand and the beach, didn’t feel very relaxed or able to calm my mind until the last couple of days.

11 - 14 Today's episode - making friends as an adult. I’m actually living this right now. Things I’ve done before to make friends & advice I’m giving to myself this time around.

15 - 18 What’s ringing most true to me during the beginning of this move to a new base & making friends again. If you don’t vibe with someone, it doesn’t mean there’s something you need to fix about yourself. Stop trying to make everybody like you.

19 - 21 Is it actually a season of focusing on yourself? Invest your energy in being your best self & maybe you’ll meet people along the way.

22 - 24 You have to put yourself out there.

    24 - 25 Being vulnerable.

26 - 33 You are a combination of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Are you someone you want to hang out with right now?

    34 - 35 Quality over quantity.

35 - 41 Being the best version of yourself, confident in who you are.

42 - 43 Surface level advice versus needle moving advice - Intrinsic factors.

44 - 50 The value of the week: Innisfree skincare - Korean skincare.
