The Pet Parenting Reset

Amy Renz, the founder of Goodness Gracious Pet Foods, joins me this week to help decipher those often very confusing pet food labels so that we can break them down into usable information to be able to compare one to the next.

Plus, we talk a little bit about the new Restorative Recipes from Goodness Gracious that I'm so excited about!

There's a lot to unpack with bird flu (H5N1, avian influenza, HPAI)

Isabel and I break it down for you in this week's episode.

Cliff's notes: Cats are much more at risk than dogs. It can be contracted through eating the raw meat of an infected bird, as well as through environmental contamination. Mitigation can look like cooking, HPP, fermenting, and most importantly SOURCING!

Librela (for dogs) and Solensia (for cats) isn't the "miracle" drug that Zoetis has promised to veterinarians.

Dr. Josie Beug has been warning us for nearly a year about this drug, which was declined in human use, and now the FDA has finally issued a warning letter.

It's no secret that I've avoided having dog trainers come on the show in the past because I'm very passionate about positive reinforcement training and there are so many trainers who use methods that I can't condone.

When I spoke with Denise before recording, I knew this would be a great fit!

She's not only a dog trainer, but she uses spirituality in her training sessions, which I absolutely love!

She's put it all in a book, which I hope you'll grab! https://amzn.to/3BtZeXQ

Repeat after me: We don't invite fae into our home!

Seriously though, there are plenty of precautions that should be taken when putting your Elf on the Shelf in various situations around your home so that your pets don't inadvertently become sick or injured.

It's easy to say "add Omega's" to your pets diet . . . but what does that actually mean? What should we be looking for? Why would we add them and how?

Judah Veitel has a rich history in the functional medicine space and as Clinical Nutrition Education Specialist for Nordic Naturals, he joins me on this week's episode to break down what you need to know about Omegas for you and for your pets.
