Some of the thngs we talked about include:
- fasting
- ketogenic diets
- rotating keto with high protein
- grounding
- circadian rhythms
- red light and blue light
- antioxidants
- omega 3's
- nutrient absorption

As a pet nutritionist, I am very passionate about the foods we feed to our pets - yes, your pets too!

The conversation around raw food diets is controversial and I have found that the conversation is much easier had around ultra processed foods and minimally processed foods.

Without a doubt, minimally processed wins hands down every time.

Steve's Real Food was the first to bring raw food diets mainstream and still gives us exceptional quality foods for dogs and cats today.

At this point, most of our dogs will have some brush with cancer.

That sucks.

BUT we now know that 90-95% is LIFESTYLE, which is so empowering!

When I find people who are so multifaceted that they literally blow my mind, I know that I have to bring them on the podcast to talk to YOU!

I've had Chelsea Kent on my radar for quite a while. She's incredible! She owns an indie pet store, she attends AAFCO meetings, she owns Parsley Pet and she owns Solutions Pet Products.

I finally got to meet her in person in 2024 and had to ask her on the podcast for you.

This episode is an overview of lots of different things that she is involved in so that we can lay the ground work to have her come back and talk a bit more in detail on some of the things that interests us all the most as pet parents who want better for our pets.

Some things we cover:
 - her indie pet store and apothecary
 - HPP in pet foods (y'all know this is a big topic!)
 - HTMA testing
 - Solutions Pet Products

When Oncotect first reached out to me and offered a test for my dog Kimberly, I was like "Sure!" and didn't think too much of it.

Then the email with the results hit my inbox and my heart sank. I didn't want to open it. Was it better that I just not know? What if she has cancer?

I did open it, breath held, and thank goodness her chances for having cancer based on this test were categorized as "low"

I know how well I care for my pets, but I'm aware that cancer can still pop up to anyone at any time. Some breeds are more predisposed as well, so we need to be extra vigilant for them.

If you'd like to have Oncotect cancer screening done for your dog, check the show notes for all the links!

Getting involved in legislation seems overwhelming, and it is, but it's also our responsibility because when we don't get involved we allow things to just happen to us ... and I believe that's how we got to this place.

The PURR Act is being reviewed in Congress and it's not ready to be signed into law at best, but certainly not good for anyone who is a consumer of pet food.

Please listen and take action!

Michelle Thomas (Magical Mutts Michelle) has such a beautiful gift that she has honed to be able to connect energetically with pets (and people) to help us as pet parents understand our pets better.

I hired Michelle to connect with my dog, Kimberly, and even though she spent a good deal of time actually connected to me, what I found out about Kim has helped me understand her better and make better decisions for myself and for her.

Michelle was kind enough to join me to tell her story and hopefully give you some insight into what she does so that you can decide if this is something that is right for you and your pet.
