In today's Phenomenal Conversation, I interviewed Dr. Marie Moreno. Moreno has 20-plus years of experience as a high school teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She successfully led Las Americas Newcomer School for 18 years and Jane Long Academy for two years. In recognition of her Phenomenal work at these schools, Time Magazine named her an Time's Innovative Educator 2022. After this past school year, she left Las Americas and Jane Long to focus on her consultancy work. Recently, she took a position with Seidlitz Education.

During the conversation, we discussed her beginnings, becoming a young leader, dealing with the challenges of leading a multi-cultural school, differentiating to serve all scholars, being named as a Time's Innovative Educator, and her foray into consultancy.

Tan Huynh is an International Educator with 15 years of experience. He regularly conducts professional development on supporting multilingual learners, contributed to various publications, the host of Empowering LLs, and is featured in Dr. Carol Salva's "Boosting Achievement."

All three educators are the co-founders of the ML Book Club on Twitter and co-authors of DIY PD: A Guide To Self-Directed Learning for Educators of Multilingual Learners.

He's held the position at Coahoma Agricultural High School, North Panola High School, Columbia High School, and now Ocean Springs High School. During our talk, we discussed up-n-coming educator serving as the Vice President of Mississippi State's study body, his educational beginnings, leading four different school, views on leadership, our spirited late-night discussion(Don't mention Cam Newton to either one of us), and where he sees himself in the next five years.
