In the third edition of Phenomenal Spotlight, we discussed the backgrounds each guest(Dr. Carol Salva, Dr. Katie Toppel, and Tan Huynh), starting the ML Book Club, what a Multilingual Learner, adding more diversity to the teaching profession, and Multilingual Learner Summit.
Dr. Carol Salva is an educational consultant at Seidlitz Education. She's an award winning educator with a track record of supporting Multilingual learner success. Also, she co-authored "Boosting Achievement: Reaching Students With Interrupted Or Minimal Education.
Dr. Katie Toppel is an educator with 17 years of teaching experience. She's currently a K-5 English Language development specialist in Tigard-Tualatin School District and an adjunct professor at Portland State University.
Tan Huynh is an International Educator with 15 years of experience. He regularly conducts professional development on supporting multilingual learners, contributed to various publications, the host of Empowering LLs, and is featured in Dr. Carol Salva's "Boosting Achievement."
All three educators are the co-founders of the ML Book Club on Twitter and co-authors of DIY PD: A Guide To Self-Directed Learning for Educators of Multilingual Learners.
