This episode concludes our discussion of Eternal Ring, one of FromSoft's spinoffs and followups to King's Field. We pick up with the Limestone Cavern, finish the game, and read your responses for good measure.
Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.
You can't help but smile at big dumb fun. The Rock is one of those muscle scientists, raising the last of the albino gorillas. Unfortunately, a wayward canister of corrupt corporate super contagion makes its way into his zoo, and all of a sudden Chicago is at risk. We really like this movie, because the monters are big and the buildings fall down.
A familiar face can move a lot of units. That was the theory behind releasing Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring in the U.S. It was a bad 3D arcade fighter, so they decided to sweeten the pot with characters from Final Fantasy VII, and they added a weird dungeon crawling mode. It wasn't enough.

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there! Kole, Ben, Dennis, and David talk about the Glass Staircase, Trackmania 2020, and we announce the 2020 Title of the Year winners.
The Grind:Tommy Vercetti was sent down south to make some money for the mob, and he chose to build an empire instead. The year is 1986 and nothing is off limits whatsoever. No game that came out after Grand Theft Auto III or Vice City would be the same, but sometimes it's hard to go back to the early days of a movement. We talk about what it felt like to play Vice City back in the day, and re-examine its story missions under a more critical light... but at least we can all agree about the soundtrack.
Thank you Lucian!
Lock and load! We've only dabbled in Rogue-lights for the show but that changes NOW with this tough as nails twin stick shooter with charm, humor, and grace notes to spare.
