I'm not proud of the way this one ends.

Pixels just sucks. It suuuuucks. It sucks.

Are you ready for some garbage!? Holy moly, this Adam Sandler movie about invading alien video game characters is just straight up gutter-leavin's. Its humor is outdated, the deliveries are halfhearted, and the visual effects are ugly and confusing. Thankfully, Peter Dinklage is in about 1/4 of the movie to brighten things up. Otherwise, this nostalgia bomb is a complete dud.

Mom's in the attic, mom's in the sea.

The world of the Witcher 3 is almost completely dark and grim, where moral ambiguity reigns supreme. So it's strange for Geralt's tale to end in Toussaint, which is picturesque and relatively calm... except for the murders. It's also a land of chivalric values that seem nice at first but are actually pretty backwards.

This massive expansion sees Geralt working with an old friend to hunt down the Beast of Beauclaire, a vampire who is murdering nobles. However, things get wildly out of hand as palace intrigue takes hold.

Blood and Wine is not uniformly good, nor is it as singularly brilliant as Hearts of Stone. But it's a good farewell.

This episode covers the main quest, while next week's episode will feature all of the side content.

Jim Stormdancer (of Frog Fractions and Video Games Hot Dog fame) joins me to talk about another Tower-related novel, "From a Buick 8". A strange man abandons an even stranger car at a gas station in western Pennsylvania, and it ends up in the custody of a state police barracks nearby. The novel, through flashbacks, tells the story of how a rookie led the charge to investigate the otherworldly happenings spurred on by the car's presence, in what's probably King's most Lovecraftian book to date.

They look a little green in the gills. Except that means they're healthy.
