They got into if Pickett will be a Steelers target in the 1st round and what other players could be of value too. Doug also dove a little into the Steelers GM search and how the interview process has been. 

KDKA TV’s Rich Walsh joined the guys. Rich was in attendance for the Pitt Pro Day and gave his thoughts on what he saw. Rich mentioned what positions the Steelers will likely target early in the draft. Richie also talked about how much longer he thinks Aaron Donald will play. 

Anaheim Ducks color analyst, Brian Hayward joined the guys. Following a late trade from the Penguins, they have acquired Rickard Rakell, in exchange for multiple players, a prospect and a 2nd round draft pick. In a big move for the Pens, Brian said they got a really good player and some of the things he can add to the offense in Pittsburgh.

He got into Kenny Pickett talk, how he looked today and what kind of reception he got form scouts in attendance. He talked about how the team looked better on paper in 2020, but the execution in 2021 brought the better product due to COVID and other restrictions. Pat also got into what’s next for him after today’s event and his plans for the draft, especially if Kenny decides to attend in person. Pat added notes about the other players Pitt has eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Todd said teams should continue to take hacks at QB because that’s a position you have to get right this day in age. NFL mock drafts still have the Steelers taking a quarterback in the first round. The guys discussed if it’s a good idea to go that route. A point brought up was Mitch Trubisky being a potential backup because his salary isn’t a killer and he would be an upper level backup. 

Arthur Moats joined the show. Arthur said Myles Jack was the best free agent signing by the team and said he should be a huge help to Devin Bush’s development, or else Bush won’t be here much longer. Arthur jumped to the receivers and gave his insight on how the team should address the depth issues. Arthur also got into the QB talk after the Steelers signed Mitch Trubisky earlier this week. In the draft, Arthur thinks receiver, safety or defensive line could be the selection in the first round.
