Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports joined the guys to talk NFL Draft. Ryan ranked his QBs, with Matt Corral from Ole Miss as his QB1, saying he would take him over Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis. He also said that Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum is as advertised and said the Steelers shouldn’t pass on him if he’s available at 20. The guys also asked about the inside linebacker prospects in the draft.

We reset on the topic of free agent QBs that could fill the Steelers’ void next season.

Ike vouched for a QB in a perfect world, why he likes Jimmy G, what makes him great to his teammates, why cold weather QBs get it done more often, and why Mason Rudolph isn’t the guy for Pittsburgh – even though he doesn’t think Rudolph has gotten a fair shot. Ike also said Ben should’ve retired a few years ago.

Mike said he believes Watson will eventually get traded, even with the open criminal investigation against the Texans’ QB. He also said Watson has some legal hurdles, but it could be wrapped up quickly once things get put into motion. Mike mentioned that teams have to be willing to take the chance on Watson by mid-March even if things aren’t settled by then, but thinks a trade could be made before the NFL Draft.

Ray also talked about what they could shoot for in the draft, how they could model from the Cowboys with the insider linebacker spot, how Brian Flores can save Devin Bush, his thoughts on the hiring, and just how much Mike Tomlin wants a mobile QB.

The Steelers front office was set to meet today and discuss their upcoming free agency position. The guys discussed what the Steelers may be debating about in the room regarding the quarterback position. Poni dropped names like Teddy Bridgewater, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andy Dalton. Of course he wants Jameis Winston, but he presented a fear that the Steelers are looking for an even older option. Chris said he’s worried they will be better than expected and stay in the same place they’ve been for multiple years.  

Chicago radio host Danny Parkins joined the show to talk about Mitch Trubisky as a potential future Steelers QB. He mentioned that Trubisky, due to years and years of poor QB play, is actually one of the better QBs in team history. When asked if Trubisky is a “low-risk, high-reward” type player, Danny agreed to that. The guys talked about Trubisky not being a smart player and Danny confirmed his thoughts on that. Danny did say Trubisky is a good athlete and throws a pretty pass, but otherwise, the compliments were not fulfilling.
