Steve talked about the over/under being 30.5 in this game and how the Patriots haven’t come close to that number in a month. Steve has more confidence that the Steelers can move the football a little bit more than the Patriots tonight.

KDKA TV legend Bob Pompeani joined the show. Pomp is right in the middle of his confidence level with the Steelers tonight. Bob also labeled tonight as a must-win. The guys asked Pomp about Mitch Trubisky and what he can do in this opportunity. Bob said he has sensed an optimism that the team can overcome what happened on Sunday. Bob thinks tonight is a battle of the tight ends and thinks Pat Freiermuth can have a nice game.

HOCKEY TALK! The Penguins dropped another one last night in Tampa Bay. The Pens only had 6 shots in the first 32 minutes. The guys think the players have tuned out Mike Sullivan and we could be getting close to a change – but how close or far away are we from that? The power play is among the worst in hockey and that was supposed to be the team’s strength. 

The Steelers are set for a matchup with the Patriots tonight. Can they finally get things going? The guys have no confidence in the Steelers to get the job done or do it convincingly. The guys labeled it a must-win due to what the Steelers have ahead of them. 

Is it time to change for the sake of change? Former Ravens Super Bowl winning coach, Brian Billick, said it might be getting to that point with Mike Tomlin. He mentioned that Tomlin is a great coach, but eventually it’s just that time. The guys don’t think the message is getting through anymore the same way it did when Tomlin was a fresh head coach. 

The guys talked about the measuring stick Bill Walsh used to use when it came to finding a franchise QB, which is around the 25-game mark. Kenny Pickett has started 24 games. How do you feel about him through those 24 games going into the future? A caller asked if the guys would trade Mike Tomlin for Bill Belichick right now. 

Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. TK thinks Mike Sullivan needs to do something to send a message to the team like sitting a star for at least a small period of time. Tyler pointed out a concerning stat at this stage in the season. TK thinks Evgeni Malkin could be the guy that has his role changed a little bit if it helps things get better. Tyler said if that change doesn’t work, they should shake things up even more – like a significant roster move. The guys asked Tyler what the Pens can do to fix the power play.
