Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're discussing Galatians 4:6 and the intimate relationship we can have with God as His children. "Because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, 'Abba, Father.'" Let's dive into three key points that will help us understand the depth of our relationship with God and how we can communicate with Him openly and intimately.
Thank you for reading My Reasons To Believe. This post is public so feel free to share it.
In today's world, many people struggle with understanding the concept of having an intimate relationship with God. But as His children, we're invited to call Him "Abba," an affectionate term for "Father," and to approach Him without fear. Today, we'll talk about the importance of embracing our role as God's children and how it affects the way we communicate with Him.
Point 1: We are adopted and favored children of God
As children of God, we are not slaves but have been adopted into the divine family. We can approach God with familiarity and speak to Him on intimate terms, without fear or reservation.
Point 2: God speaks to us with tenderness and warmth
As our heavenly Father, God communicates with us in a personal and affectionate manner. He calls us with terms of endearment, appeals to our hearts, and invites us into a closer relationship with Him.
Point 3: Reject the notion of being "too familiar" with God
Some may warn us about becoming "too familiar" or "too intimate" with God, but we shouldn't let this hinder our childlike relationship with Him. Embrace the intimacy and connection that comes with being a child of God.
Conclusion:
As God's children, we are invited to embrace the intimate relationship He offers and to communicate with Him openly and personally. By doing so, we can grow closer to our heavenly Father and experience the warmth and tenderness He desires to share with us.

Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're discussing Psalm 16:11 and the joy and pleasure we can find in God's presence: "You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever." Let's dive into three key points that will help us understand how to find lasting joy and satisfaction in our relationship with God.
In our world, we often associate pleasure with negative or sinful activities, but God wants us to experience true joy and pleasure in His presence. Today, we'll talk about how following God's direction in our lives will lead us to the most fulfilling and enjoyable experiences possible.
Point 1: God's ultimate goal is our joy and pleasure
God's desire for our obedience, fruitfulness, and character growth is not just about changing our behavior or conforming us to His image. These are pathways that lead us to experience true joy and satisfaction in our relationship with God.
Point 2: Pleasure is not a bad word
In Christian circles, pleasure is often seen as a negative concept. However, God wants us to have a good time and enjoy life, and He is leading us toward the most lasting and fulfilling ways to experience it.
Point 3: God's guidance leads to joy
When God's words seem difficult or when He seems to be resisting our desires, He is actually redirecting us to more fulfilling experiences. His guidance is an accelerated pathway to His joy and pleasure.
Conclusion:
Following God's direction and seeking His presence will ultimately lead us to experience true joy and pleasure in our lives. By understanding His ultimate goal for us and embracing His guidance, we can live a life full of satisfaction and happiness.

Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're discussing 1 John 4:2 and the importance of discerning truth: "This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God." We'll look at three key points to help us discern God's voice and recognize the truth.
In a world where falsehoods and misinformation are rampant, it's more important than ever to be able to discern the truth, especially when it comes to our faith. Today, we'll explore the ways in which we can be confident in recognizing God's voice and the truth of His message.
Point 1: Look for consistency with Scripture
God's voice will always be consistent with Scripture, the divinity of Jesus, the nature of salvation, and His own character. If a message contradicts any of these essential foundations, it is not from God.
Point 2: Be aware of false teachings
Throughout history, false teachings have threatened the church. Be vigilant in identifying and rejecting any messages that undermine the nature of Jesus, salvation, or the reliability of Scripture.
Point 3: Trust in God's unchanging character
God's character and purposes are constant. While He may give different instructions to different people, He will never change His mind about the core aspects of His person or His plan.
Conclusion:
Discerning the truth and God's voice is crucial for our spiritual growth. By focusing on consistency with Scripture, being aware of false teachings, and trusting in God's unchanging character, we can become more adept at recognizing His voice and the truth of His message.
Call to Action:
This week, practice discerning truth by examining messages or teachings you encounter. Look for consistency with Scripture and consider whether the message aligns with God's character and the essential foundations of our faith. Share your insights with a friend or family member to encourage each other in your journey to discern God's voice and truth.

Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're looking at 1 John 4:1, which reminds us to be discerning in recognizing God's voice: "Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world." As we dive into this passage, we'll consider three key points to help us discern God's voice in our lives.
In a world filled with competing voices and messages, it can be challenging to distinguish God's voice from all the others. Today, we'll explore how to sharpen our spiritual discernment so we can confidently recognize and follow God's guidance, even when it's unexpected or unfamiliar.
Point 1: Test the spirits
In order to discern God's voice, we need to be vigilant in testing the spirits. This means evaluating what we hear, whether it's from preachers, friends, or even our own thoughts, and comparing it to what we know to be true in Scripture.
Point 2: Seek confirmation from God
When we're unsure if a message is from God, it's important to ask Him for confirmation. Through prayer, reading the Bible, and seeking wise counsel, we can gain clarity and confidence in recognizing His voice.
Point 3: Be open to God's stretching
God's voice might sometimes stretch our understanding, but that doesn't mean it's not from Him. Be open to the possibility that He might be speaking to you in unexpected ways, and trust that He will lead you into truth.
Conclusion:
Learning to discern God's voice is a crucial skill for any believer. By testing the spirits, seeking confirmation from God, and being open to His stretching, we can grow in our ability to recognize and follow His guidance in our lives.
Call to Action:
This week, practice discerning God's voice by reflecting on a message or teaching you've recently heard. Test it against Scripture, seek confirmation through prayer, and consider how it might stretch your understanding. As you grow in your discernment, you'll be better equipped to recognize and respond to God's voice in your life.

Let’s Pray…Lord, give me a discerning spirit and help me to recognize false voices. I trust Your ability to lead me. I want to embrace every word that comes from You.
My Beloved Child,
In Isaiah 45:23, I declared, "I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word." I want to reassure you that My words and promises are unchanging and steadfast. I understand that in your earthly experiences, you may have encountered broken promises and unreliable words from others. But My love and commitment to you are unlike anything you have ever known.
It is natural for you to question and wonder about the things I have spoken to you. I know that it is not always easy to trust in the unseen and the unknown. But as you grow in faith and experience My unfailing love, you will come to know the unwavering nature of My promises.
Your doubts and questions do not anger Me, for I know your heart and your longing for certainty. But I encourage you to believe in Me and to trust that My words are true. Seek confirmation if you must, but never doubt the accuracy and sincerity of what I have spoken to you. My promises are sacred, and I have sworn by My own name that they will be fulfilled.
In times of uncertainty, remember that My love and faithfulness are unending. Hold onto the promises I have made and let them guide you through every season of life. As you walk in faith, you will come to understand the depth of My commitment to you and the unshakable nature of My word.
My child, trust in Me, and believe that My promises are true. For I am your loving Father, and I will never forsake you or let you down. Rest in the knowledge that My love is eternal, and My word is forever.
With unwavering love,
God, your Faithful Father

[Daniel said,] “There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets.” . . . The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.” DANIEL 2:28, 47
Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're examining Daniel 2:28, 47: "[Daniel said,] 'There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets.' . . . The king said to Daniel, 'Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.'" We'll learn how God can reveal His wisdom in the most unexpected situations, and how we can boldly seek His guidance in all aspects of life.
In the face of a seemingly impossible challenge, Daniel trusted in God's ability to reveal hidden knowledge. His faith and courage led to the display of God's power in a pagan kingdom, showing that God's wisdom can transform any situation. Let's dive into three points to consider when seeking God's wisdom in our lives.
Point 1: God's wisdom transcends human understanding
Just as Daniel relied on God to reveal the meaning of Nebuchadnezzar's dream, we can trust that God's wisdom is greater than our own understanding. His knowledge extends far beyond our limitations, and He can guide us through the most challenging situations.
Point 2: Boldly seek God's guidance in all areas of life
Instead of only seeking God's will for our personal lives, we should also boldly ask for His guidance in addressing society's problems. God desires to reveal His wisdom to all aspects of our world, from governments and schools to medical research and the arts.
Point 3: Be open to God's wisdom in unexpected places
God's wisdom is not limited to religious or spiritual matters; it can also transform secular and even pagan societies. Be open to the possibility that God may reveal His wisdom in unexpected ways and through unexpected people.
Conclusion:
As we seek God's wisdom in our lives, remember that His knowledge transcends human understanding and can transform even the most unexpected situations. Be bold in seeking His guidance in all areas of life, and stay open to His wisdom wherever it may be found.
Call to Action:

Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're diving into Joshua 21:45: "Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true." We'll discuss how to hold on to God's promises, even when doubt and uncertainty creep in. Let's explore three detailed points to consider when facing moments of doubt, as we seek to trust God's word and His faithfulness in our lives.
Sometimes, we may feel like we've messed up and lost our chance at God's promises. We question if our actions have caused us to forfeit the blessings God has planned for us. But, as we see in Joshua 21:45, God is faithful, and His promises remain true, even when we struggle to trust or hold on to them.
Point 1: God's promises are steadfast
Remember that God's promises are unwavering, despite our human imperfections. Even when we doubt or stumble, God remains faithful, and His word comes true.
Point 2: Seek God's voice in moments of doubt
When doubt or uncertainty fills your heart, seek God's voice through prayer and reflection. Like the story of desperately seeking confirmation from God, He will provide guidance and assurance when we genuinely seek His direction.
Point 3: Embrace God's encouragement
God does not withdraw His promises, even when we think we've missed them. Instead, He encourages us and reassures us of His faithfulness. Trust in God's love and His desire to see us through the challenges we face.
Conclusion:
In the face of doubt and uncertainty, hold on to God's promises, remembering that His faithfulness is unwavering. Seek His voice in moments of doubt and embrace His encouragement to keep moving forward in faith.

Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're focusing on Acts 4:13: "[The members of the council] could see that [Peter and John] were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus." In this episode, we'll discuss how God often speaks to us through unexpected sources and the importance of being open to hearing His voice in the least likely places. Let's dive into three detailed points to consider as we seek to recognize and understand God's messages through surprising channels.
In Acts 4, Peter and John, who were ordinary men without special training, spoke with authority because they were filled with the Holy Spirit. Their words were unexpected by the religious leaders, but they carried powerful messages from God. Like Peter and John, God often speaks to us through unexpected sources, testing our ability to look past the surface and recognize His Spirit.
Point 1: Expect the unexpected
In listening for God's voice, be open to the unexpected. God can speak profound guidance not only through spiritual leaders but also through uneducated, ordinary people, or even those we find difficult to connect with.
Point 2: Look past the surface
To hear God's voice in unexpected places, we must look past the surface and into the Spirit. Just as Jesus defied expectations, God often uses surprising sources to communicate His messages to us.
Point 3: Embrace "unaware prophets" and "unlikely angels"
Be open to hearing God's voice through "unaware prophets" and "unlikely angels," those who may not appear spiritual or who challenge our preconceived notions. God's voice may surprise us not only in what He says but also in how He says it.
Conclusion:
As we listen for God's voice, it's essential to be open to hearing Him speak through unexpected sources. By looking past the surface and embracing those who might not fit our expectations, we can receive powerful messages from God and grow in our relationship with Him.
Call to Action:
This week, pay attention to the voices around you, even those that may not seem spiritual or appealing. Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're focusing on Luke 7:40: "Jesus answered his thoughts. 'Simon,' he said to the Pharisee, 'I have something to say to you.'" In this episode, we'll discuss how God speaks to us through stories, metaphors, and illustrations, and learn from Jesus' interaction with Simon the Pharisee. Let's dive into three detailed points to consider as we seek to recognize and understand the messages God shares through stories.
In Luke 7, Jesus used a story to challenge Simon the Pharisee's perspective on a sinful woman. This method of communication allowed Jesus to share a powerful message that could penetrate Simon's heart. Like Simon, we too can learn valuable lessons from the stories and metaphors that God uses to speak to us.
Point 1: God speaks through stories
God often communicates with us through stories, metaphors, and illustrations, as they can pierce the barriers of our hearts and provide new insights. By paying attention to the stories in our lives, we can discern the messages that God is trying to share with us.
Point 2: Stories provide new perspectives
Stories can give us a radically new perspective on situations and help us understand things differently. Like Jesus' story for Simon, we can find fresh insights and understanding if we're open to seeing things from a new angle.
Point 3: Embrace the challenges in God's stories
God's stories can be challenging, but accepting these challenges can lead to significant growth and transformation in our lives. By recognizing and embracing the messages in the stories God shares with us, we can experience meaningful change.
Conclusion:
As we listen for God's voice, it's important to remember that He often speaks through stories, metaphors, and illustrations. By paying attention to the stories around us and being open to new perspectives, we can gain a deeper understanding and wisdom.
Call to Action:
This week, take some time to reflect on the stories in your life and consider what messages God might be trying to share with you. Welcome to "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast," where we explore how to listen and respond to God's voice. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today we're focusing on Acts 11:23: "When [Barnabas] arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord." In this episode, we'll discuss how encouragement is an essential aspect of God's voice and learn from the example of Barnabas, the "son of encouragement." Let's dive into three detailed points to consider as we seek to recognize and emulate God's encouraging voice.
God's voice often speaks to us through encouragement, and one of the best examples of this in the New Testament is Barnabas. As someone who was known for his encouragement, Barnabas teaches us valuable lessons about how to express God's heart and support our fellow believers.
Point 1: Recognize God's encouraging nature
God's default attitude towards His children is encouraging, yet this aspect of His voice is often overlooked or misinterpreted. By acknowledging that God is kindhearted and uplifting, we can better recognize and respond to His voice when it comes to us through encouragement.
Point 2: Learn from Barnabas' example
Barnabas consistently encouraged others, bridging gaps and supporting believers in their journey of faith. By following his example, we can become conduits for God's encouraging voice, helping to strengthen and uplift those around us.
Point 3: Reject false perceptions of God
It's essential to reject any false perceptions of God as nitpicky or fault-finding. These ideas can hinder our ability to hear and express God's true voice of encouragement. Embracing God's kindness and encouragement allows us to support and uplift our brothers and sisters in Christ more effectively.
Conclusion:
As believers, we must understand the importance of encouragement in God's voice and learn to recognize it in our lives. By learning from Barnabas' example and rejecting false perceptions of God, we can become channels for God's uplifting and supportive voice, helping others in their walk with Christ.
Call to Action:
This week, focus on being a source of encouragement for those around you. Look for opportunities to uplift and support your friends, family, and fellow believers, just as Barnabas did. As you embrace this aspect of God's voice, pay attention to the impact it has on your own faith journey and the lives of those around you.
Thank you for joining us on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with others and subscribe for more discussions on hearing and responding to God's voice.
