TITLE: ONE DAY WHEN...

VERSE: I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. PSALM 27:13

✔️ - I have a confession to make: I sometimes think like this.

✔️ - It’s because we want to be with God, but he isn’t here yet.

✔️ - One day. It's a phrase we use all the time, but rarely do we stop to consider what it really means.

✔️ - Jesus was born into a world marked by suffering and poverty, but even in those early days, he saw something different

TAKEAWAY:  He has not left His throne in Heaven just because life isn't fair sometimes. He is still there working things out for your good

PRAYER:  Lord, When we trust You with our lives (and our plans), we give up control of them and allow You to work through us. That gives us peace because we no longer have to worry about how things will turn out or if they will work out at all—we just need to trust Your plan for us and let You do what only You can do!

TITLE: SETTING A TRAP FOR JESUS

VERSE: “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD. ISAIAH 1:18, NKJV

✔️ - The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were often standing apart and reasoning to themselves, trying to trap Jesus in His own words.

✔️ - So human intelligence has been known to be less than reliable in spiritual matters

✔️ - God rarely urges human beings to depend on their reason.

✔️ - This doesn’t mean that everything He says will make sense at first glance

TAKEAWAY:  But once we learn how to listen for Him, His voice becomes clearer and clearer; eventually, it becomes impossible not to hear.

PRAYER:  Lord, You are the author of reason. Your logic, Your logos, is the wisdom behind all creation. Impart that wisdom to me. Enlighten my mind with Your truth. Cut through all the false reasoning of the world and draw me into the realities of Your Kingdom. Let me think clearly and consistently with Your Spirit.

VERSE: [Jesus said,] “I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock.” LUKE 6:47-48

✔️ - We say we want the best life possible.

✔️ - That's because we want our lives to make sense.

✔️ - But here's the thing: God doesn't care about whether or not your life makes sense.

✔️ - What if Jesus was just a really smart guy?

TAKEAWAY:  We don't need all the answers about life and God's plan for our lives. We just need Him!

PRAYER:  Father, I am not sure that sometimes I understand what You are saying in Your Word, but it is clear that You love me and want me to be happy. Help me see this clearly today and every day so that my heart will be free from worry and anxiety.

TITLE: LAY IT ALL ON THE LINE

VERSE: [Jesus said,] “Why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?” LUKE 6:46

✔️ - It’s a piercing question that immediately undoes any casual approach to following Jesus.

✔️ - If you’re like most people, you probably want to be a Christian more than anything else

✔️ - Many of us have a difficult time following Jesus as Lord.

✔️ - We call Him Lord, but we don't always follow Him as Lord.

TAKEAWAY:  We can’t just live with an excuse or two when it comes to God. We have to lay it all on the line and let Him lead us higher.

PRAYER:  Lord, I just want to say thank you for being so kind and patient with me. Thank you for giving me another chance to get it right this time around. And thank you for loving me even when I don't deserve it.
