VERSE: This is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ  —everything in heaven and on earth. EPHESIANS 1:10

✔️ - To understand God’s voice, we need to know something about His agenda.

✔️ - When we’re listening for God’s voice, we need to envision both the macro and the micro views.

✔️ - When you're feeling stuck in your life, it can be hard to get a good look at your situation from above.

✔️ - Your individual piece fits into His larger plan.

✔️ - When God created the earth and the heavens, He did so with a purpose in mind.

✔️ - He plans to bring everything in both heaven and earth together under the authority of Christ (Ephesians 1:10).

TAKEAWAY:  Never limit your prayers to what is “feasible” on earth, but include requests that will display the glories of heaven in the here and now—at least until He comes back again!

PRAYER:  Jesus, I long for everything to be under Your authority  —everything in heaven and earth and in every corner of my life. TITLE: ZERO COMPROMISE. PERIOD!

VERSE: The LORD gave [the man of God] this command: “You must not eat or drink anything while you are there, and do not return to Judah by the same way you came.” But the old prophet answered, “I am a prophet, too, just as you are. And an angel gave me this command from the LORD : ‘Bring him home with you so he can have something to eat and drink.’” But the old man was lying to him. 1 KINGS 13:17-18

✔️ - The man of God was told not to eat or drink in Bethel...

✔️ - I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel like I'm fighting a war against myself...

✔️ - And here's something else...

✔️ - I have spent my life trying to live out the words of Proverbs 3:5-6

✔️ - God has spoken, and it is up to us to listen to His voice and obey what He says.

✔️ - We should never compromise our faith for anyone or anything.

TAKEAWAY:  If He wants us to do something, it's because He wants us to do it completely and wholeheartedly, with no compromises.

PRAYER:  Lord, I tend to compromise much too often  —probably because I’m uncertain about what You’ve said. Give me the confidence to anchor my faith and obedience in Your words and never deviate from them. Cultivate in me a holy tenacity to cling to promises and assignments You’ve given.

TITLE: GOD'S BIG ASSIGNMENT

VERSE: Gideon said to God, “If you are truly going to use me to rescue Israel as you promised, prove it to me in this way. I will put a wool fleece on the threshing floor tonight. If the fleece is wet with dew in the morning but the ground is dry, then I will know that you are going to help me rescue Israel as you promised.” JUDGES 6:36-37

✔️ - God had already asked Gideon to take on a big assignment

✔️ - God is patient with us when we ask him to help us understand his plans for us.

✔️ - When Gideon asked for a sign, God told him to get ready to attack the Midianites.

✔️ - This is when Gideon started to second-guess himself:

✔️ - Gideon’s doubts are all too familiar.

✔️ - It's easy for us to look down on people who ask for signs from God...

TAKEAWAY:  When you ask for something concrete, it gives God an opportunity to reassure you. And when He does, believe Him. He wants you to trust the direction He has given you.

PRAYER:  Lord, I know we walk by faith and not by sight. But sometimes I need reassurance that my faith is heading in the right direction. Be patient with me. Show me signs, and give me faith to believe them.

TITLE: A VICTORY CELEBRATION

VERSE: You surround me with songs of victory. PSALM 32:7

✔️ - It’s a beautiful thought.

✔️ - In our most confining captivities, our spirits are hearing words of deliverance.

✔️ - Those who have made God their hiding place are...

✔️ - In fact, we can get so caught up in the physical world around us that it becomes difficult to hear those songs of victory.

✔️ - When we feel like God has left us, we're often wondering why He doesn't speak to us.

✔️ -But what if the opposite is true?

TAKEAWAY:  These songs carry authority and cause the enemy to flee, so they can't be drowned out by the din of battle—they will accomplish your deliverance and put a melody in your heart.

PRAYER:  Mighty God, my Warrior, sing loudly. Let me hear. Direct your angels to join in the chorus. Sing victories and deliverance over me. And encourage me to always remember that when I sing during my battles, I’m not alone. I’m singing along with a powerful, invincible tune.

TITLE: A FRUSTRATING PROCESS

✔️ - The truth is, it's not up to us to make God speak.

✔️ - For those of us who like to "make things happen," this can be a frustrating process.

✔️ - When we're waiting on God, it can be frustrating.

✔️ - The truth is, there are times when God seems silent.

✔️ - We need to remember that while God may not always give us what we want right away...

✔️ - The problem isn't that God is silent; it's that we aren't hearing well.

TAKEAWAY:  The problem is that we don’t always open our ears when it comes to hearing from God. We often think we already know what He wants us to do or say, so there’s no need to listen closely for His voice anymore.

PRAYER:  Lord, open my ears. Again and again. I’ll pray it constantly, relentlessly, until I’m hearing You well. You are the master of my hearing, and I trust You to speak in ways I can perceive and understand.

TITLE: SEASON OF REJECTION

VERSE: [The Lord said,] “They will recognize how hurt I am by their unfaithful hearts.” EZEKIEL 6:9

✔️ - “Lord, teach me something about You that I don’t already know.”

✔️ - Unrequited love  —whether from a potential romantic partner or a family member or a friend  —is one of the worst pains a human being can feel.

✔️ - I realized in the midst of a season of rejection that God experiences that pain every single day.

✔️ - He wants us to be able to relate to Him and know Him deeply.

TAKEAWAY:  When we are alert to our relational dynamics, we can hear Him portraying His feelings in them.

PRAYER:  Lord, I don’t just want to know about Your heart; I want to experience the things You experience. Share them with me. Alert me to Your feelings. Connect me to Your experiences through my own.

TITLE: GOD STILL HAS SECRETS

VERSE: This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. . . . And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. COLOSSIANS 1:26-27

✔️ - Some Christians believe that God doesn’t speak today because the Bible is complete.

✔️ - The Word long desired before the coming of the Messiah was planted by faith inside of us after the Resurrection.

✔️ - A promise is implied in this truth.

✔️ - Christ who lives within us (Galatians 2:20), then it is also Christ who speaks within us, because He does not live without speaking. The Word is living and breathing in us.

TAKEAWAY:  We may shrink back at such an awesome role, but we do so at great cost. The world needs Jesus and His voice. And it gets them through us.

PRAYER:  Dare I believe this, Lord? On second thought, dare I not believe it? If it were not Your Word, it would be arrogant and presumptuous. But I don’t want to fall short of Your Word. Help me, in every way possible, to be a revelation of Jesus.

✔️ - Our God loves unity; it’s only right to expect Him to inspire it.

✔️ - We see this approach in the Jerusalem meeting of church leaders in Acts 15.

✔️ - It’s important to approach decisions with as many people listening as possible.

TAKEAWAY:  He loves the fellowship of many ears listening to Him simultaneously on the same issue and responding with unified hearts.

PRAYER:  Spirit of God, forgive me for asking so often that You would speak to me individually without also asking that You would speak to us collectively. Move through us, fill us, empower us, grace us with Your transforming presence. Enable us to move forward in unity.

TITLE: READY, SHOOT, AIM!

VERSE: Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. PSALM 42:7, NIV

✔️ - One-way communication with God isn’t enough.

✔️ - We can’t be content with anything less than a heart-to-heart connection.

✔️ - God offers us that, and in abundance.

✔️ - Not surprisingly, it’s in the depths.

TAKEAWAY:  And life seems to flourish most plentifully out of deathly wounds. Out of the depths, God speaks.

PRAYER:  Lord, I want to connect with the deepest parts of Your Spirit in the depths of mine. Is there any other way than in the midst of life’s tumultuous seas? Even if not, this is worth it. Let the noise of the breakers give way to the sound of Your voice.
