The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: ALL TALK, NO ACTION

EPISODE: 22-201

VERSE: The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. ISAIAH 55:10-11

✔️ - Some of us speak with little expectation of our words being heeded.

✔️ - To many of us, words are just words.

✔️ - The result is a culture of language in which “all talk and no action” is a frequent lament.

✔️ - It will result in what He wants it to do.

TAKEAWAY:  If they are promises, we will believe them. If they are encouragement or correction, we will accept it. Whatever He says, it’s true. It will not return to Him without fulfilling His purpose.

PRAYER:  Lord, if all creation heeds Your voice, so must I. Let the distance between my ears and my actions be short. I respond with yes to whatever You say.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: FAITH TO RECEIVE

EPISODE: 22-200

VERSE: This word [of God] continues to work in you who believe. 1 THESSALONIANS 2:13

✔️ - When God speaks and hearers reject His words, His words will not be effective in those hearers’ lives.

✔️ - In many aspects of relating to God, what He speaks only takes shape when we believe what He said.

✔️ - Faith is the currency of God’s Kingdom, just as surely as dollars and euros and renminbi are the currencies of the world’s systems.

✔️ - They fall to the ground without effect if we don’t believe.

TAKEAWAY:  The message that God delivers to us, whether of salvation or some aspect of following Him thereafter, will powerfully work in us  —when we believe.

PRAYER:  Lord, I have heard Your voice; help me believe it. May I fully embrace everything You have spoken so I can see the reality of it fully manifested in my life.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: DIVINE ORIGIN

EPISODE: 22-199

VERSE: We never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God  —which, of course, it is. 1 THESSALONIANS 2:13

✔️ - Paul, speaking not only for himself but also for Silas and Timothy, was aware that their words weren’t entirely their own.

✔️ - And the listeners in Thessalonica were somehow able to recognize that.

✔️ - Few audiences today will recognize any divine origin behind human words.

✔️ - Yet God’s own Word has made it clear that people are able to represent His voice.

TAKEAWAY:  That voice must always be measured by His previously revealed truth, but if it’s from God, it will measure up well. We can accept the proven words of His servants.

PRAYER:  God of truth, You know how to express Yourself through flawed human beings and fill us with Your Spirit in order to communicate. Help me see Your mind and heart in everyone who speaks Your truth.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: INFLUENCE

EPISODE: 22-198

VERSE: The word of God . . . is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. HEBREWS 4:12

✔️ - The Spirit who lives within us influences our thoughts and inspires our inner senses.

✔️ - It’s hard to know if our thoughts are from God or from ourselves.

✔️ - How can we tell the difference?

✔️ - The Word divides between our minds and spirits, separating between our various motives and leading us into God’s will.

TAKEAWAY:  If God has put them within us, the Word will confirm them and strengthen us to hold them tightly in faith. The sword of the Spirit will always point us toward the thoughts of God.

PRAYER:  Spirit of truth, I invite You to sharply and decisively divide my own thoughts from Yours and distinguish Your voice within me. Let Your words burn powerfully in my heart and mind.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: INSPIRED

EPISODE: 22-197

VERSE: The word of God is alive and powerful. HEBREWS 4:12

✔️ - God breathed His words through human beings.

✔️ - When the Word was written, it was under the specific guidance and supervision of the Holy Spirit.

✔️ - The Word is also inspired when it is read and heard today.

✔️ - But when our spirits are open, the voice in the Word comes alive. Scripture still speaks.

TAKEAWAY:  Don’t just read the Bible. Saturate yourself with it. Savor it. Let it shape your heart, your mind, and your spirit. When you do, it will open your ears.

PRAYER:  Holy Spirit, breathe Your words into me. Don’t just teach me Your truth; fill me with it. Let it shape me in every way so I can hear Your voice in it, through it, and by the light of it.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: AHA MOMENT

EPISODE: 22-196

VERSE: Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear. MARK 4:9, NIV

✔️ - Like most people who are familiar with the Bible, you may have experienced a strange phenomenon.

✔️ - You see what you’ve never before seen, even though it has been right in front of your eyes.

✔️ - That’s God’s voice.

✔️ - God knows how to communicate.

TAKEAWAY:  Don’t dismiss those moments as coincidences or as a function of your own psychological quirks. Embrace them as the voice of God speaking personally through His Word. These are moments when He has opened your ears to hear.

PRAYER:  Holy Spirit, let me read Your Word as if reading it for the first time. Unveil its meaning and apply it to the moment. Please carry our conversation forward.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: OPPOSITION

EPISODE: 22-195

VERSE: [Paul and Silas] headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. ACTS 16:7

✔️ - George Müller tried several times to become a missionary, but the doors always closed.

✔️ - His closed doors led to fruitful, life-changing work where he was.

✔️ - Nearly everyone has experienced a time when we’ve sensed God’s leading and then found opposition at nearly every turn.

✔️ - And if He is the one who shut them, no attempt to open them by faith will work.

TAKEAWAY:  That may take time, but new doors inevitably open. He will direct us down paths we never knew existed. And He will open opportunities that are far better than the ones we thought we understood.

PRAYER:  Jesus, You are the Master of my doors. Father, my times are in Your hands. Holy Spirit, You promise to direct my paths. I trust You to close every door that isn’t Your will, open everyone that is, and give me discernment to recognize the difference.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: FORESIGHT

EPISODE: 22-194

VERSE: Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. As the Scriptures say, . . . “The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” 1 PETER 1:23-25

✔️ - God doesn’t speak transient words.

✔️ - When He speaks, He speaks with the authority of permanence.

✔️ - That doesn’t mean God never adds to His words or tells us we haven’t lived up to them.

✔️ - He declares His will without reservation.

TAKEAWAY:  His words endure. His purposes are eternal, and His words to us are based in those purposes. Whatever He tells us will endure.

PRAYER:  Eternal God, the words You spoke to me years ago are still true, even long after I’ve forgotten them or chosen to neglect them. And the words You speak to me today will not fade away. I trust them  —for as long as it takes to see them come to pass.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: THROUGH YOU

EPISODE: 22-193

VERSE: It is not you who will be speaking  —it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. MATTHEW 10:20

✔️ - Jesus told His followers that the Spirit would guide them into all truth and tell them about the future.

✔️ - They will be the speakers, but God will be the source.

✔️ - Few people today are apt to claim divine inspiration when they speak...

✔️ - Those who have heard God’s voice are intimidated into thinking they haven’t.

TAKEAWAY:  Instead, we are invited to let the Spirit rise up within us and speak boldly through our mouths in the situations around us  —not arrogantly, not presumptuously, but confidently. The Spirit loves to make Himself heard through His people.

PRAYER:  Holy Spirit, I know You are speaking, and I trust that You are speaking to me and through me. You give me permission to declare what I’ve heard from You to others. Help me make the most of every opportunity to do so.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

TITLE: ARRESTED

EPISODE: 22-192

VERSE: When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. MATTHEW 10:19

✔️ - Few of us in the Western church today would expect Jesus to begin a sentence with, “When you are arrested.”

✔️ - God Himself will speak through us.

✔️ - The great comfort of this verse is not that God is always inspiring our words...

✔️ - At critical times in our relationships, we become a mouthpiece of the Lord, who happens to use our mouths and personalities in the process.

TAKEAWAY:  Most Christians have, at some point or another, been a mouthpiece for the Lord, often without even being aware of it. But whether we recognize it or not, God speaks through us. And when we rely on Him without worrying about our words, He speaks most freely.

PRAYER:  Holy Spirit, give me the words to say  —not just in pressure situations, but in every relationship I have. Let my words be seasoned with Your grace, truth, and power. Use my mouth as You wish.
