THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ "You will find that the power of My words is fully invested in you."

✔️ “I’m not urging you to put My words under a microscope and become legalistic, as religious experts of the past have done."

✔️ "I move the hearts of loyal friends."

TAKEAWAY: "Your prayers will not bounce off the ceiling. You will believe that I am the God who answers you. I will give you ample evidence to know it in the depths of your heart.”

PRAYER: Lord, hear me when I call! Your words mean everything to me. Everything. My desires are Your desires. I am zealous about whatever comes out of Your mouth. Let my responses to You, and Your responses to me, be quick and decisive.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ The pastor had sensed a transition was coming to his church.

✔️ The convergence of the message confirmed the surprising word God had been speaking.

✔️ God doesn’t typically use the words of other people to inform us of a new direction.

✔️ He guides us with skillful hands even when we think we’re wandering.

TAKEAWAY: He uses the words of others to confirm it. He knows how to guide, and He lets others be part of the process.

PRAYER: Lord, I listen earnestly for Your guidance, but You never told me to listen alone. Give me timely words from others  —and discernment to know when to heed them.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ Jesus has just taught Nicodemus about the necessity for everyone, Jew and Gentile alike, to be born again.

✔️ That means that one of the deepest truths in the Gospels is, according to Jesus....

✔️ God isn’t going to speak “new revelation” to us...

✔️ He never runs out of things to show us.

TAKEAWAY: God’s words are always calling us out of our boxes and deeper, higher, further into His heart and His Kingdom. And only those who are willing to be stretched can hear them.

PRAYER: Stretch me, Holy Spirit. Reveal to me the things of heaven. Help me grasp the truths that blow other people’s minds.

MYR2B MINISTRIES

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ Arguably the two most prominent figures in the Hebrew Scriptures

✔️ God was not reluctant to engage them in conversation.

✔️ One of the hardest things to balance in our relationship with God is the tension between familiarity and awe.

✔️ We find Him speaking in more familiar terms than we might expect.

TAKEAWAY: What could possibly prevent us from running to God and zealously pursuing a face-to-face friendship? Why would we ever be content with not hearing Him well? He invites us into intimate conversation. We should never settle for anything less.

PRAYER: Majestic God, whisper Your personal thoughts to me. Let me know You more deeply than I’ve ever been taught, more directly than purely religious minds can accept. I want to experience You as profoundly as You have ever allowed anyone to experience You.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ The voice of God revealed Jesus’ identity to Simon, though Simon had heard nothing concrete.

✔️ Jesus was and is the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

✔️ Simon had the privilege of calling out Jesus’ true identity, and Jesus did something profound in response.

✔️ He insisted that Peter would be defined by His words, not by Peter’s past.

TAKEAWAY: His work in this world. His identity and yours are both necessary parts of His mission.

PRAYER: Jesus, I can answer Your question, “Who do you say I am?” You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. But who do You say I am? You alone define my identity. I look to no one else to tell me what role I play in Your Kingdom.

THE POWER OF GOD'S WHISPER

✔️ In John’s prophetic vision, Jesus has strong words of correction for a lukewarm church.

✔️ As friends having a meal together.

✔️ This verse is often used in the context of salvation, but that isn’t its primary purpose.

✔️ He is speaking to them primarily about relationships.

TAKEAWAY: See it as an ongoing meal between close friends. Let Him lean over the table of your heart and tell you what’s on His mind. There’s no greater blessing than this.

PRAYER: Jesus, the door of my heart is wide open. Come on in. Sit with me, eat with me, talk to me. Let me be one of Your closest friends.
