Tonight’s Scripture
"And when Jesus had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them.'" — John 20:22-23

Forgiveness is a powerful, Spirit-filled gift we can proclaim over others. Kyle Norman reflects on a childhood experience where he felt a deep, spiritual desire to declare forgiveness, not just casually, but as a divine proclamation of grace. This mirrors Jesus’ words to His disciples after breathing the Holy Spirit upon them: “If you forgive anyone their sins, they are forgiven.”

As followers of Jesus, we are called to extend the message of His love, grace, and forgiveness to those burdened by shame or guilt. Many carry unseen spiritual weights, wondering if God could ever accept them. You have been empowered to speak hope and truth into those lives.

Consider: Who in your life needs to hear that they are loved, seen, and forgiven by God? How might you be the one to speak that truth aloud?

Your Nightly Prayer
Dearest Jesus,
Proclaiming your forgiveness is an awesome and profound privilege. Your forgiveness is what frees me to embrace you as robustly as I can. Your forgiveness is what transforms my life each day. Help me to proclaim this message to others, particularly to that person you are calling me to. Give me the words to say that will break through any defense or doubt, so that they may feel the soothing balm of your forgiveness wash over them. As your devoted follower, I pray that you bring me to the right person, at the right time, so that I might declare your forgiveness in their life.
I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
