For many kids October 31st was a date second only to Christmas in terms of anticipation and parting, maybe even exceeding the Yule Season in the intake of sweets and treats and all things leading to bad dental visits. 
And it’s that celebration, Halloween that is the fondly remembered holiday in this episode of The Primrose Chronicles.
From the class rooms to the neighborhood sidewalks and homes, activities filled the entire month.
Most all of them are not specific to the NE side of Indianapolis, so don’t let an unfamiliarity with the community keep you an outsider.

In this episode vignettes from his Boy Scout experience, short as it perhaps was. 
In the responses to the post on Facebook teasing this installment of The Primrose Chronicles, dozens of folks spoke of the special place Scouting for both boys & girls positively played in their hearts and thoughts even today. 
It is hoped, now it is up and available, it will match the anticipation with content.

The Christmas Classic, A Christmas Story, actually offers several sub-plots that are reminiscent of the incidents in the  childhood of many. 
Such is the case for Ralphie’s yellow-eyed nemesis and a singular event in this episode of TPC. 
SPOILER ALERT - Ralphie comes across in his story better than the narrator does in his, but it should prove to be an enjoyable tale, nonetheless. 
It’s little shorter in length than recent installments and ends with an important announcement about the future of Chronicles.

Riverside Amusement Park in Indianapolis closed for good in 1970 & was demolished in 1978. 
It’s place among the city’s attractions gone but not forgotten is revisited in this installment of The Primrose Chronicles podcast lore. 
So sit back and listen as host & narrator, Marty Young, recalls the sights, sounds & smells of the Circle City’s singular place for thrill rides for over 60 years. 
The episode takes a sobering turn at the end as Marty acknowledges and briefly engages in a story reflecting his realization, all be it late,  of the sad and embarrassing reality of racism in the park’s operation which some would say also led to its demise. 
It hoped the entire history of Riverside can be recognized for what it was and, in the listening, serve as a cautionary and directive tale that can help bring together hearts and lives as all are children of God.

There’s a lot of history that took place in a pharmacy. 
OK, not “a lot” but enough to hopefully draw the listener into this wistful tale about a staple of any mid-century neighborhood, the corner drug store. 
Not just the Rx provider for families in the 50’s & 60’s. Its  aisles & shelves were a local connection with the greater world abroad.

It’s a rather cryptic title  to introduce a very impacting element of mid 20th century youth culture.  Listeners  will have to discover for themselves the connection between title and telling as Episode 19 of TPC examines the changing landscape of music, radio and personalities in Indianapolis. 1955-1965. 
Seen through the eyes, ears and experiences of The Primrose Chronicles storyteller, the  battle for the ears and hearts of the teen scene between the two radio giants, WIBC & WIFE is excessively lived out before the TPC audience.

The host and narrator of this Primrose Chronicles series will admit this was the installment he was most looking forward to writing, recording and sharing. 
It is a story that centers on ONE day, Sept 3, 1964 when Indianapolis, IN became the hub and heart of the contemporary music scene, hosting not one but two concerts of the Beatles. 
This is a first person account of one teens very special personal encounter with The Fab Four that day. 
It is hoped his special recollections will prompt the same in many others, and with them a smile remembering a time long past.
