This is the second part of a two-parter centering around your host and narrator's "home church" growing up, E. 49th Street Christian Church.  After offering a lengthy description of the church's campus and programming for elementary, Junior High and High School youth in Episode 4, this installment focuses on a singular event the took place in the congregation's  confine and is entitled," The Day Webber Shot the Youth Minister".

The title more or less gives it away, but recounting it through the eye of one up close and personal makes this a tale worth settling in and listening to.

Characters from earlier episodes are re-introduced and the notorious Jackson family (Episode 3 - "Let's Go Find Randy")  appears in its telling again, this time in the person of Shawn Webber, Randy and Stu's younger cousin.

All always, please take the time to rate, review and share as a means of getting The Primrose Chronicles into the ears of growing audience.

  • Backdrop For an Eventful Sunday

Episode 4 of The Primrose Chronicles provides the necessary narrative for Episode 5, posting April 22nd, by offering the reflections your host, Marty Young, as they relate to a very important part of his growing up, upper elementary, Junior High and High School years - the people, programs and events that took place at East 49th Street Christian Church.
While some of his recollections are unique to his "home church", the tone and surrounding nostalgia will be universal to many listeners, regardless of their faith background, as a reminder that faith and its various expressions played a large role in family life during the 50's & 60's
In some cases it proved a battleground of ideas and beliefs.  In others it was a point of connection and inclusion and strength.  In few cases could it be without affect.
Enjoy as you anticipate next episode's tale - (Spoiler Alert) "The Sunday Shawn Shot the Youth Minister".

Episode 3, Season 1 of The Primrose Chronicles, Let's Go Find Randy,  builds on the information recounted in Episode 2 regarding automobiles and hot spot drive-ins of North East Indianapolis. In Episode 3 the host and narrator, Marty Young, tells of a fateful summer night in mid-1960's when the worlds of hoodlums and geeks, so labelled by the other, collided in an expected event.  This first person account is sure to become a classic, told through the eyes and emotions of one coming of age teen and his terrified buddies.
Told in a warm and humorous style, the evening some 60 years removed from today, this chapter in the Chronicles is the first of several tales that will comprise this series.

  • THE HOUSE AT 4425

    Send us Fan Mail

In this inaugural episode of Season One, THE PRIMROSE CHRONICLES, your narrator and guide, Marty Young, offers a auditory tour of the home where the Don & Dorothy Young clan did live for parts of nearly 50 years on the Northeast Side of Indianapolis.
4425 Primrose was the hub from which spread the events and activities, holidays and seasons  that the 5 Young'ns experienced as they grew up in that fanciful neighborhood in a magical decades of the 1950's and 60s.
The hope is that, even if  listeners are not familiar with that two block stretch of suburbia or those years long past, an animated backdrop will be painted for the stories that will follow in this season.
You can offer a review  on the app or page you listen in on.  You can comment and ask questions of the narrator by sending a post, [email protected] or a personal message to his Facebook page.  For now it's just Marty Young.
If so warranted, a Primrose Chronicles page will be launched with pictures, background stories and other features.
