  • Greatest Hits Vol 1, EP106 - Robyn O'Brien

The finale of our Vol 1 Greatest Hits is here and today we are rewinding for a replay of Episode 106, which originally aired in July 2020.

When I interviewed Robyn O'Brien, co-founder of rePlant Capital and author of The Unhealthy Truth - I instantly became passionate about 2 fundamental issues of our time:

1 - Transparency in the Food Industry

2 - Food Security is National Security

Robyn's journey of pushing on the food industry for heightened transparency on topics such as farming or sourcing practices, genetically engineered foods, began with her personal life as a mom, when her youngest child had an allergic reaction to a food.

Robyn instantly became one of the nation's leading activists and voices of authority for Transparency in food labeling - her TedX talk went viral online, earning her the nickname of "Food's Erin Brockovich." She is a best-selling author, an adjunct professor at Rice University, and the co-founder of rePlant Capital, a financial services firm scaling climate solutions on farms and advancing regenerative agriculture practices.

She is amazing, and without doubt: one of the most inspiring interviews I've ever done.

Enjoy this Greatest Hit, Episode 106 with Robyn O'Brien.

  • Greatest Hits Vol 1, EP202 - Heather Terry

On February 23, 2022 I interviewed Heather Terry, co-founder and CEO Of Good Sam Foods. This interview originally aired as Episode 202.

This interview changed my shopper behavior and attitude towards one of my favorite indulgent foods: Chocolate.

Cacao farming in East Africa and other areas of the world has a history of using child slave labor. Despite 2 decades of working in the agriculture industry and over 40 years of eating chocolate, I did not know this.

Good Sam Foods was founded with direct & fair trade labor practices at its core. Good Sam Foods produces chocolate that is good for you, farmers, and the planet.

You're going to love this episode. And here's a insider fun fact: This episode came across the desk of The Drew Barrymore Show and they booked Heather as a guest to come tell this story on their show!

Enjoy this Greatest Hit: Heather Terry from Good Sam Foods discussing Cacao farming, and fair and direct trade as a means to eliminate child labor in the chocolate industry.

  • Greatest Hits Vol 1, EP48 - Elizabeth Shaw

Welcome back to our Vol 1 Greatest Hits! Today we are sharing an episode that originally aired in May of 2019.

With our brand name being The Produce Moms and our B Corp values for inclusivity, it's important for us to pause and recognize the fact that motherhood and parenthood can be a difficult topic for many. There's a lot of reasons this is a difficult topic, but a leading reason is infertility.

My husband and I had 4 miscarriages between our two sons, and I vividly remember all the polarizing emotions associated with trying to get pregnant, trying to stay pregnant, and more. Members of our team struggled with infertility for years, other members of our team have estranged relationships with their mothers or parents due to neglect, abuse, personality conflicts, and more.

Motherhood is something we celebrate here at The Produce Moms - each and every day. BUT, it's important that we also use this platform to honor people who are struggling with parenthood - for whatever reason.

Today's greatest hit welcomes Elizabeth Shaw, registered dietitian and a 2x Amazon bestselling author of "Fertility Foods: 100+ Recipes to Nourish Your Body While Trying to Conceive." And "The Stress-Free IVF Nutrition Guide."

  • Greatest Hits Vol 1, EP149 - Dr. Drew Ramsey

Welcome to our 2nd episode of the Volume 1 Greatest Hits here on The Produce Moms Podcast!

Today we are playing back episode 149, The Secret to Taking Control Over Your Mental Health With Dr. Drew Ramsey

This originally aired in April of 2021 - the world was a year into the Covid-19 pandemic and still navigating quite a bit of mental health pressures.

My team & I feel strongly that mental health awareness is always a worthy theme. So many of us are facing challenges, stress, and mental anguish that can feel unbearable.

Dr. Drew Ramsey is a medical doctor, psychiatrist, farmer, teacher, 4x author, and TEDx speaker.

When this show first aired, we were celebrating the launch of his book "Eat to Beat Depression and Anxiety." This groundbreaking book helps us all forge a path toward greater mental health through food.

A powerful line of this episode is "The most important message for people to take away is that you have an incredible amount of control over your mental health and your brain health."

  • Greatest Hits Vol 1, EP197 - Brian Antle

Throwing it back to January 2022 with a special episode that originally aired as EP197. This show stars my friend Brian Antle as he tells the story of his family's farming legacy. Tanimura & Antle is famous for their premium quality produce: fresh lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and more.

lt was the first farm I ever visited in Salinas Valley - Brian and members of the Tanimura family personally toured me through their operation and to date, it's one of the most memorable experiences of my entire life. I've also visited their farms in Yuma, Arizona and we work with this company as a brand partner of The Produce Moms.

I honestly thought I knew most of the incredible brand's family farming story and legacy.

When I was interviewing Brian for this episode, I learned about the way these families came together in WWII - the Antle Family watched over the Tanimura Family's land when members of the Tanimura family were placed in Japanese internment camps, and two of the brothers fought in the war.

What started as a relationship between two families with a love for produce and farming has grown into a global company with 30,000 acres of farmland on the west coast and 7,000 annual employees.

When I think about what separates The Produce Moms from all the other resources and creators out there - it's our connection to the farms.

Enjoy this Greatest Hit: Brian Antle and the American Family Farming story of Tanimura & Antle.

  • EP258 Money, Mindset & Meal Planning with Jade Warshaw I The Produce Moms

Ever since paying off over $460,000 in debt with her husband, Sam, she's been coaching others on how to pay off their own debt by shifting their mindset, beliefs and actions around money. Today, Jade Warshaw is in her dream job at Ramsey Solutions as a Master Financial Coach, Debt Elimination Expert and Debt-Free Entrepreneur.

Durring these difficult times, Jade was determined that they weren't going to sacrifice when it came to food. See, when she was a kid, no matter what hard times she faced, her mom always cooked an amazing meal. She almost always ate together as a family, and for her, that was peace. She remembered what that meant to her and decided she could do the same, so she started couponing and ad matching and buying whatever was on sale to make the most delicious meals she could. That was our reward for a day well done. This eventually led Jade to share her recipes online and start building a community with other people who were also trying to live the debt-free lifestyle.
