It's hard to quantify the value of Kirill Slavin's insights into the future of tutoring. All we can say is you don't want to miss the visions laid out here.

Kirill Slavin is a renowned tech and finance entrepreneur and, most recently, has formed an AI-powered tutoring interface which combines the power and affordability of machine tutors with the humanity and responsiveness of human tutors. It's called Academator and we would advise following their progress. You may find it's the platform to be on when the time comes.

In this high-energy 25 minutes, Ludo and Kirill tackle the question of accessibility and availability in tutoring. It's clear that targeted tutoring is the future of effective learning - and yet, the principal issue remains, and has perhaps even been exaggerated by the pandemic: it is too expensive for most students and parents.

Daniel Dipper: Remember the Name. Daniel is a talented and engaged student at the University of Oxford who is bringing about educational change in this country ... and beyond.

We have known Daniel for a while now, first having the pleasure of meeting him as part of the scholarship programme that Qualified Tutor ran for Sutton Trust alumni in the spring-summer of 2020.

This week, we chatted to our friend Jack. We had a big conversation, as we always do, about how we must approach education for those that need it most.

Jack Simmonds is a tutor for Nudge Education, a talented musician and chorister and, of course, Qualified Tutor's wonderful course facilitator and Community leader.

Jack has worked with many students over the years and recently, with Nudge, has found himself supporting students who are, as the title suggests, disengaged from school. This means that the traditional school system doesn't have the time and/or space for them.

It's hard to know what life is like in prison if you haven't experienced it. For a chronically disengaged student, it's much the same. Claire Smith understands both.

Claire is a compassionate and highly experienced tutor for Nudge Education. Previously, Claire worked as Head of Education at not only Wormwood Scrubs Prison in London but also HMP Bronzefield, in Middlesex.

We challenge you to find a more open and, at times, brutally honest conversation than this one. Young offenders and prisoners are hidden from society but, if Claire's experience is anything to go by, these are the individuals who need our community-led approach to learning the most.

What we are most proud of, apart from giving someone as well travelled and well versed as Claire a platform to share her experiences, is the power of the Qualified Tutor training courses.
