If you are like me when someone talks about a problem they have you immediately want to give them the solution. Most of the time this is NOT the best course of action. Sometimes they don't want a solution they just want to talk about it. Sometimes you really don't have enough information to give them the best solution. So what do you do?
You ask them 7 Questions. In the book “ The Coaching Habit” Michal Stainer lays out 7 questions that can help you help the person you are talking to find the solution they need. If you can take the approach of coaching instead of giving advice you can in power the person with the problem to find their own solution.
