Here are your two-paragraph show notes:
Today on The Quivercast, we sit down with surfer, skater, and artist Dave Tourjé @davetourje, a driving force behind the influential California Locos art movement. Growing up amid the gang-infested streets of Northeast Los Angeles, Dave found refuge and purpose in surfing and skateboarding—two passions that kept him out of trouble and shaped his creative path. As his love for art grew, he moved to Santa Barbara to study, surf, and immerse himself in a world where expression and lifestyle merged seamlessly.
In time, Dave began collaborating with like-minded artists who shared his roots in SoCal subcultures, leading to the formation of the LOCOS movement. Today, California Locos embodies the innovation, multicultural energy, and rebellious identity of Los Angeles itself. Dave shares how the collective brings together the stories, styles, and crafts of its artists—spanning hippie to punk rock, surfing to skateboarding, lowrider to hot rod, tattoo to graffiti, and lowbrow to fine art—honoring the authentic spirit of Southern California’s creative underground. Tune in for a conversation that bridges culture, creativity, and the unmistakable LOCOS attitude.
