You've been doing the work. But how do you actually know it's working? This week I'm talking about the signs your boundaries are creating real change in your life, even when your brain is too deep in it to see the progress. I cover the number one signal your boundary is working that most people mistake for a sign they got it wrong, why clearing your doom pile is the perfect metaphor for what happens when you finally shift a draining dynamic, and how you'll know you've been consistent long enough when saying no stops feeling like the end of the world. If you've ever wondered whether any of this is actually making a difference... this episode is for you.

If boundaries feel uncomfortable, you're doing it right. This week I'm getting real about the part nobody talks about:
I talk about the mask you built to survive, what happens when it starts falling apart, and why that voice pulling you back to the familiar is a lie your nervous system constructed to keep you safe not to keep you well.
I also share what I've been building behind the scenes, the workbook and our free Telegram community, The Recovery Room, for neurodivergent women who want to do this work with support, in a space that honours how their brain actually works. Links below

You’ve been told to love yourself a million times. But nobody told you that the voice talking you out of it sounds a lot like your mum’s. In this episode Gena unpacks the inherited critic: the motherline, the guilt trips, the side glances and the “it was just a joke” and why you’ve believed it for so long it started to feel like your own voice. It’s not. It never was. This episode is your permission slip to stop letting it run the show.

You were never the black sheep. You were the sparkly unicorn your family didn’t know what to do with.
This week I’m unpacking where that black sheep persona actually comes from; the rejection, the “you’re too much,” the constant feeling of not belonging. And why it was never really you, just a rulebook you were handed that was never built for you in the first place.
I talk about what it actually takes to let go of that old persona and step into who you were always meant to be, plus a simple way to start giving yourself the validation you’ve been waiting on from everyone else. Ever walked away from a conversation wondering why the hell you said all that? Or felt that 3am replay loop kick in, picking apart every word? This week I’m unpacking what actually shapes our boundaries: your rules of engagement, access and tolerance; and why these get distorted fast, when you’re neurodivergent or carrying trauma. I talk about the baseline you’re still operating from without realising it, and share two tools for handing emotional responsibility back to where it belongs. This is the work that boundary scripts always skip. If you’re ready to go deeper, the workbook waitlist is open You Deserve a Peaceful Life, Sparkly Unicorn.

You've downloaded all the scripts to deliver your boundaries, but then you watched yourself circling back into the same dysfunction you clawed your way out of. In this week's episode we talk about the realities of setting boundaries within dysfunctional dynamics and what it takes to stay the path when obsessive thoughts hit. I share insider tips on how I created my boundary aftercare action plan and built a robust team of support to help me stay the path, after going no contact with my mother. You'll walk away from this episode with tools of your own and a way to start building your boundary aftercare plan. You can now join the waitlist for my upcoming workbook You Deserve a Peaceful Life, Sparkly Unicorn and empower yourself with boundaries that stick.

This week I found 2 voice memos from when I was plucking up the courage to start a podcast back in 2023. It was wild finding these and how relevant they are to what I'm sharing now. I talk about how to listen to your loved one's trauma story: the do's and don'ts when responding to them. The other voice memo is how trauma survivors make some of the best healers and how our lived experience brings a new level of understanding and ability to hold space differently.

This week we dive into the realities of loving yourself, while holding all the roles of motherhood. Lauren shares her journey of answering to the question: How can I love myself more? This is a must listen, if you have been looking at your family sideways and quietly imploding. We share the realistic ways to putting yourself first in the thick of it all.
About our guest:
Lauren is a mum of three little humans (not so little...almost 16, 12, and six).
She is the founder and owner of The F.I.T Method. Her fourth baby.
She is a Leo & a Projector in her Human Design, because of this she has a very deep, strong desire and purpose to share her story and life evolution, to help others understand their own story. She uses movement to express, heal and connect to herself and her community. From there, the magic happens with self-image coaching.
"Seeing and loving yourself unconditionally is the whole focus and point."
She uses her Leo courage and performance with her Projector intuition and strategy to create ripples of love wherever she goes.

This week I take you on a drive as I reflect on my journey with neurodivergence, trauma, masking and being a high functioning girl and woman within the context of my experience of sex abuse and how it shaped my experiences in my day to day. I also share 2 accommodations since discovering the added layer of AuDHD and learning to release myself of the guilt of not doing things the neurotypical way. These accommodations have helped me in my daily operations as a mum and have supported me in being better prepared in my social interactions without having a complete meltdown afterwards. This episode is both reflective and practical and my intention is for you to recognise yourself in this and feeling less alone and having something practical to implement in your life, doing it your way. Below I have useful links related to the topic explored in this episode and underneath that you can find how to connect with me and dive deeper into my work.
