When I was a small child, my mother had an expression she liked. She taught it to us at a young age. It went a little something like this:

MYOB.

*Mind your own business. Don’t insert your unasked-for opinion in someone else’s business. Live and let live. If it doesn’t apply to you, don’t get in the middle of it. This advice has served me well in life.

I can’t even imagine how many hours I’ve saved by fucking off. I have no interest in other people’s drama. Their lives are their business.

Can you imagine if Traitor Trump, MAGA, and white nationalist Christofascists all followed this same advice? The world would be amazing. A recent bullshit maneuver by Mango Mussolini and the FCC regarding Stephen Colbert’s show is a prime example of this. Their attempt at censorship backfired tremendously.

I had an interesting self-realization moment this afternoon.

You think you know what you’re all about. How your mind works. What makes you do the things you do. Then something happens, and you suddenly realize that perhaps you don’t know everything about yourself.

I thought I’d had it all figured out at this age of 51.

But no, not exactly. That was pretty funny to realize. And how it relates to politics, my writing, and other aspects of my life. You’re never too old to realize new things. I talk about this in today’s episode of our podcast.

I found myself sitting in a restaurant today, sitting amongst a large number of Hispanic families. And my heart broke.

It’s not easy seeing so many wonderful, diverse types of people enjoying themselves in Trump’s AmeriKKKa. These are the type of people who are being targeted by Traitor Trump and his fucked up, masked, domestic terrorist goon squads known as ICE. I hate those dick-smacks so much.

The folks we dined with were kind. Their children were having a wonderful time. Our waiter was also Hispanic and the nicest fella. We left him a big tip. He did a wonderful job, and it’s hard work being a waiter.

I talk about these ICE raids and how they’re ruining our nation in today’s podcast episode. I appreciate you lending me your ears on this one. While I had a fun day with my family, I was also feeling the pain of what folks who are being targeted are going through.

Pardon me if I disagree with that statement. Especially here in America, in 2026. It’s Valentine’s Day, and they try to sell us on the idea that love is the most powerful thing in the world. But I have my doubts.

Love didn’t cause the Holocaust. Love hasn’t started the wars that have killed millions. Love didn’t save over 1000 victims of rape on Epstein Island.

Speaking of, the Pedophile President specializes in hate. He’s always crying and bitching about something or someone. Love doesn’t radiate from the White House. I really believe that his hateful divisiveness is ruining our nation.

I’ve tried my damndest to give good advice to many people over the years.

And very few accept it. At least not in a real, noticeable way. Be it friends, family, co-workers, or acquaintances, it’s difficult for people to change. They appear to be listening. They tell you that you’re giving them good advice.

And then they do nothing with it. And repeat the cycle of whatever bullshit they’re going through. If it happens to the people you love repeatedly, it may frustrate you enough to stop trying.

I’ve reached that point with several over the years. Some folks, you just can’t reach. Especially MAGA folks. Trumpanzees just are too indoctrinated in their cult to listen and change.

I talk about this in today’s episode. It’s not our job to try to fix everyone’s shitty situation. Especially when they choose not to accept the wisdom you’re offering. I learned this years ago about MAGA, and it’s even more frustrating when it’s a loved one who keeps their self-inflicted struggles going.

I seriously don’t know how some people do it in this country. Especially when our government doesn’t seem to give a shit about the poor.

I was driving to the gym this afternoon. I had to borrow my daughter’s car since mine was in the shop. I was also hungry. I had to hurry and get there and back before lunch, so she could do her online class and pass Mooch back to me.

I started wondering how people get by when they’re hungry and don’t have enough to eat. And how they get to and from a job with no vehicle.

I talk about this in today’s podcast episode. While those two minor inconveniences were just temporary setbacks for me, that’s the reality of daily life for so many Americans. It makes me sad. And furious toward Trump’s fucked-up criminal regime that steals from the poor to pad the pockets of the wealthy elite.

Man, that was some scary shit, finding a lump on our beloved dog, Mooch.

We found it on Friday evening. She’d just gotten better from being fairly sick for a couple of days. We attributed it to her recent change in diet. When she started feeling better, we thought we were in the clear.

Then Mai found a lump. A decent-sized one. That happening will scare you shitless. Trust me.

Some of you know how that feels. I saw all of the comments you left about your fur babies when I posted about Mooch. I get it. They mean the world to us. We both thank you for your kind words, prayers, and good vibes. I talk about what she went through in today’s episode.

She’s all good. Just a fatty deposit, called a lipoma. She’s feeling fine and is back to being a happy girl. She’s also leaning against my leg as usual when I write or record a podcast episode. She even went on a car ride today, as you can see from the photo.

I’m glad she’s ok. More than glad. So fucking relieved. Mooch is a big part of what I do here on Substack. Thank you all for loving and appreciating her, too.
