Church history has documented the fateful journey for many in the Martin Willie Handcart companies. Their trek to Zion was full of hardships and deprivations. Most focus on the sacrifice that was required of these strong saints, most forget however the sanctifying power that was forged through this literal walk with God. Joseph and Maria Oborn were a part of those saints who consecrated all they had so their descendants could embrace fully the covenantal relationship with the Savior. Maria and her son were rescued in an angelic, miraculous fashion. We now hold that same torch in being an angelic rescuer, in saving the generations.
