  • Talking Tacos Episode 91: The Boys Commit to the Bit
On episode 91 of Talking Tacos, the boys commit to the bit, and the bit is hot sauce revues. This week we try a sauce from Ghost Dog hot sauces, as recommended by the great John Stickley, and we fucking die. Easily one of the best revues that we’ve done.
    Doctor Dave runs with deer.
    MoTW ™ has been lacking.
    Kanye sucks so fucking hard.
    It’s taco time.

  • Ready Set Revue Episode 81: Black Adam
The movie we’ve been waiting for since…um…2009, I guess? Black Adam has finally been released and it’s…good? Ok goodISH. The bar is certainly low for DC movies, but it at least seems like someone over there is at least reading some comics before making these movies. Release us from our 5,000 year prison and talk about this movie. There may be hope for the DCEU yet…

  • Talking Tacos Episode 90: The Boys are Vigilantes
Episode 90 of Talking Tacos is here and the boys are vigilantes.
There’s a new cocktail menu at Loteria, the new hotness.
One chip review of an off-the-shelf product, Gringo Banditos.
    Doctor Dave and Operation Whirlwind.
Mom of the podcast knows we’re degenerates.
There’s beer for dogs now, professional slap contests, and so much more.

  • Talking Tacos Episode 89: The Boys Eat Fish Tacos (but not the lady kind)
On episode 89 of Talking Tacos, the boys eat fish tacos (chuckle, chuckle) but like actual fish tacos. It would be a little weird if we were all eating the other kind all at the same time in a public restaurant. All jokes aside, the fish taco special at Loteria this week absolutely FUCKED. It was a crispy fish taco which the boys are immediately campaigning to replace the current fish taco on the menu. The regular fish taco is great, this crispy one is just better.
This was a big week on Talking Tacos as the boys introduced (ripped off) the One Chip Revue. One chip…nobody knows the rules. In this episode we sampled another hot sauce from Outer Limits, the Weed Eater, and it was incredible. We still need to figure out an official rating system, but this one was a good time. Not too high on the heat scale, but wonderful on the flavor scale; easily an everyday hot sauce. Listen to us argue the specifics.
We also have some good Formula 1 debates about the Cost Capgate and a related yet anemic niche meme of the week ™. Meme Lords have been slacking, or perhaps nothing really interesting has been going on in the world?
Would you rather see a good band play a so-so show? Or see a so-so band play an absolute banger show? We debate. That, and much more.

  • Ready Set Revue Episode 80: She-Hulk
Hold onto your butts because Ready Set Revue is BACK. It’s a brand new world with Matt and his new co-host, Will. True Revuers, please give Will a warm welcome to the podcast and listen to us gush over She-Hulk. Make no mistake, She-Hulk is top tier MCU, don’t listen to all of the neckbeard haters that are still butthurt that the MCU no longer revolves around Tony Stark. We love Tony Stark. We always will. He’s the first real hero, and arguably the greatest, of the MCU. But he’s fucking dead. Get over it. Move on.
Will and Matt talk about the wonder that is She-Hulk, which is a real departure for the MCU both in the sitcom style of storytelling and the mega-meta-fourth-wall-breaking Jennifer Walters ™ . All of these idiots complaining that She-Hulk is too marketed towards kids are just that, idiots. I can’t think of any other kids shows where the main character bangs three different dudes and has side characters that legit try to commit suicide. Enough. She-Hulk ruled and we’re here to tell you why.
We also speculate on what the crazy ending means and what’s next for She-Hulk and the MCU. If you’re expecting a podcast without spoilers, watch She-Hulk first and then listen

  • Talking Tacos Episode 88: The Boys Do Butt Stuff...?
On episode 88 of Talking Tacos, the boys do butt stuff.
Ok not really because we record at a restaurant in a public space so the only butt stuff we’re doing is eating enough food and hot sauce to prepare for the morning poop. This episode was a doozy. It all started with a brief power outage in town that caused us to lose the first 15 minutes of the podcast where we recounted what had just happened at the green room (Asbury Park Distilling) mere moments earlier…it involved a drunk girl and rewriting lyrics to popular songs to make them about buttholes. It was actually really funny.
This week we review another hot sauce from Butch’s, Wicked, and it was damn good. We also talk about Kanye and the concept of doing something just so people talk about it, dating twenty-somethings, more butthole stuff, and Matt really hates the Kardashians. Always special guest Kung Fu joe Marino, along with Dr. J and Courtney, and Sam. Grab your tequilas.

  • Talking Tacos Episode 87: The Boys Roast Matt
On episode 87 of Talking Tacos, the boys roast Matt. Also, what else is new? Apparently Matt fucked up, even Alejandra said so on her new segment, Alejandra’s Alley where we tell her a story and she tells us what we did wrong. We also discuss the votes being cast at Taco Bell right now to select which discontinued menu item will return, much like the Mexican Pizza from last week’s episode. So far the Enchirito, which is little more than a Mexican slop bucket, is in the lead. Right before the episode was recorded, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds once again triumphed as Hollywood’s most adorable power couple with their announcement that Hugh Jackman will be coming out of retirement for one last take as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. We all kinda jizz a little.
And lastly we spend more time than we possibly ever have on hot sauce talk as we discuss our first sauce from Outer Limits hot sauce, the habanero. This sauce was a banger and we dedicated almost half the episode to it. Tune in for a good one this week. Featuring special guest and friend of the podcast, Kung Fu Joe!

  • Talking Tacos Episode 86: The Boys Go to Sea Hear Now
This week on Talking Tacos the boys went to Sea Hear Now. It was a BIG episode this week because for the first time ever, on any podcast of the Revue Podcast Network, MOM of the podcast Marietta makes her debut. And by her debut we mean she mostly sat there and rolled her eyes at us. We are also joined by Mom of the Podcast’s friend, the Wonderful Wayne and our always special guest, Kung Fu Joe Marino.
This week the boys try another hot sauce from Butch’s, a peach habanero. While lacking a bit in heat and consistency, the flavor was spot on. The boys also provide our revue of Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza, now that it has permanently returned to the menu. There is no MotW ™ this week as we had too much to say about Sea Hear Now.
For the fourth year in a row (2020 doesn’t count) Sea Hear Now took over the north side of the boards and melted faces with an incredible lineup of musicians, even featuring a couple from our own backyard in Asbury Park. The headliners this year were Stevie Nicks and Green Day, and Doctor Dave has some thoughts about Green Day’s mention of Asbury Park and, for some reason, Philly. It was a fantastic festival as it always is, though there were some flaws this year. We talk about all of that and much more on this week’s episode.
Grab your tequila and tune in!

  • Talking Tacos Episode 85: The Boys Can't Save the Queen
On episode 85 of Talking Tacos, the boys can’t save the queen, not that we really tried because fuck the monarchy and all rulers. You can obviously guess what Meme of the Week ™ was this week as the world either celebrated or mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth. We’re just here for the memes and boy, have the meme lords been sitting on these nuggets for a while - a surprising amount of Princess Di content too. And for the first time ever, we have a true Meme of the Week ™ runner up, dull Chris Pine. A few days prior to the Queen’s death there was a hilarious rumor going around that Harry Styles had spit on Chris Pine (he didn’t) and somehow we got a meme from that. Unfortunately, Chris Pine was almost immediately overtaken by the Queen.
This week was a bit different in that we ended up at El Rey in Asbury Park and have once again left with a discount code for all of your wonderful people! The code is ONLY good at the Asbury Park location! Tell your server the randomly generated code that we gave them, 042984, and get 20% off your order! The code is good through the end of September.
The boys also talk about the stupid racist rage of people upset about the black Little Mermaid. What a bunch of neckbeards. The Mexican Pizza officially returns to Taco Bell, for good! George R.R. Martin lost a bet and had to include his friend in Game of Thrones, and much more. Local summer is in full effect this week!

  • Canon Fodder Episode 25 Lord of the Rings: Part 1
Episode 25 of Canon Fodder is rightfully a special one. Not only is it the first in a three-part series on the Lord of the Rings universe, it was also recorded live during a special cocktail event hosted by the Revue Podcast Network’s sponsor, 3BR in Keyport, NJ. The event was a day of Tolkien-inspired cocktails, of which Matt, Ed, and their special guests sampled plenty. Spoiler alert, they were amazing.
Part one of our LoTR focuses on the original Peter Jackson trilogy - The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King - and the subsequent Hobbit trilogy (the latter of which was way inferior). The original Peter Jackson trilogy of movies were pretty much the zenith of epic adventure filmmaking when they were released and, in many ways, still are. It’s fun to see where shows like Game of Thrones drew inspiration from. There’s not a whole lot of fodder in these six movies, but we do have some good conversation on the upcoming Amazon show, Rings of Power, and what we think it will bring us.
Sorry you couldn’t have been there to join us for cocktails, but trust us, they were amazing.
