In today's episode I discuss a childhood story around the famous Illinois restaurant Portillos. I also give y'all a life update and I finish the episode discussing the importance of being flexible when it comes to pursuing an end goal and following life when it gives you a sign in a different direction. Here's the blog that I talked about in today's episode-
When we start anything new in life, there’s a sense of direction that’s missing. You may have an end goal in mind, but everything in between isn’t there. It’s empty. You must go towards that goal and fill in the gaps.
The issue we often run into is that when life, fate, or whatever you want to call it, takes you off track, you think the end goal you made up isn’t where you’re supposed to be. And maybe it isn't. How would you know? You don't!
Many things go on inside our minds when we get rerouted on our way to a goal.
- Is that goal something I really want?
- Should I pursue this thing over here that I’m attracted to and forget that other goal?
- Why is this happening for me?
If you’re looking for me to answer these questions for you, I cannot do that. That’s up to you. I will, however, tell you what I do when life redirects me.
I follow life. Ya, I may want that end goal REALLY BAD! BUT, life might be showing me something that’s even better and more worthwhile than that goal that I THINK I want.
The great thing about doing it this way is that I can always go back to that initial goal if the redirection life is throwing at me doesn’t work out. In my experience, though, when life redirects you, it’s usually for a good reason.
Thanks for reading.
