The Phillies had a team meeting last week before a game against the Marlins. They are 4-1 since.
Is the worst finally behind them?
The Phillies will find out this week, when they open a six-game road trip in Atlanta. There were plenty of good signs from the Phillies, including big weeks from Trea Turner and the rotation. But the weekend could have been better. Following fun Alumni Weekend celebrations, including the late great David Montgomery being inducted onto the Wall of Fame, the Phillies lost Sunday’s series finale against the Nationals.
The Phillies had the tying run at the plate with no outs in the ninth, but Phillies manager Rob Thomson declined to use either Bryce Harper or J.T. Realmuto. Cal Stevenson grounded into a double play and Garrett Stubbs grounded out to end the game.
Ruben, Jim and Todd have some thoughts on it.
