Karen Solt is a 20+ year navy veteran. She has a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology and counseling, she is an Advanced Holistic Coach, and she has spent 18 months serving in a veterans treatment center working directly with our homeless and addicted veterans. She is also in the process of finishing her book which focuses on coming out of hiding.

Jeff and Jessica are the producers of an upcoming documentary focussing on Post Traumatic Growth (PTG). Jessica is the host of the podcast Shadow Work Library which focuses on the darker side of our human experience and learns how to integrate it. She is also the CMO of The Special Forces Experience, a Kambo provider and a documentary producer. Jesse Gould is a pioneer in psychedelic therapies. As Founder and President of the Heroic Hearts Project, he has spearheaded the research and acceptance of ayahuasca, ibogaine, ketamine, and psilocybin therapy programs for military veterans. Today we are talking with Justin Smith. Justin is a Neuroscientist that studies the effects of stress and making decisions in stressful situations. He works with some of the top companies in the country and with many military organizations that don’t exist (Shhhh). This was a great conversation where we talked about the physiological signs of stress on the body, how chronic stress can affect the body, and what we can do to counteract it. We also talk about the emotional component of decision making. I love how Justin discusses the science behind emotions, and how it is absolutely impossible to remove emotions out of anything. Anti-fragility is not only being tough and being able to weather out the fight. Physically anti-fragile is important, and on today's talk we are talking about being mentally anti-fragile. Being able to entertain 2 separate competing ideas at the same time. When a person with a competing idea (politics, fitness, religion...) talks with you, do you get agitated? Does your blood pressure rise? Do you want to fight that person? This is a good sign that you are mentally fragile. There is strength being able to stay cool when talking about competing ideas.
