  • The key to a creative campaign that converts your audience to paying clients with Nathan Bynum
Have you struggled with building a creative campaign that converts your audience to paying clients? If yes, it's time to consider a guerrilla marketing plan. Let's break down how to build a creative campaign that converts using the three components of a guerrilla marketing plan. What is guerilla marketing? Gorilla marketing can be broken down into 3 parts Plot - creativity, project management, and a good crew Act - understanding your audience, be engaging and remarkable Direct - highlight your unique value proposition (UVP), call to action, and know the next steps How to create a good plot when using guerrilla marketing? Your creative campaign begins with your innate creativity Creativity is the first part. We are all born with creativity but it is sadly beaten out of us throughout the course of life. Find what makes you unique. Likewise, identify your superpower. Whatever you are the best at, is where your creativity and your UVP will come from. Creativity fuels brainstorming. Project management is key to building a successful creative campaign Project management is the second part and is the visualization of how everything will come together. Think of a whiteboard with a map of the project, like a dashboard to see all of the components needed to accomplish the ultimate goal. And the third part is having a good crew. Your crew includes the people you hire and the people who will help you see the holes in the plot. The plot concept can be applied to both in-person and online marketing. It's time to trust in yourself and share your brand story to build your future. Knowing the personality archetypes of video will help you have more confidence to use video to tell your brand story! How to trust yourself to use video to tell your brand story When it comes to video, self-doubt often prevents us from creating videos to tell our stories. However, it's important to become obsessed with the bigger picture, your big goals, your dreams, and your mission, to allow yourself to start creating videos. Despite the uncomfortable feeling of putting yourself out there, trust that no matter where you are, there will be people you resonate with. It is more than your appearance, it's how to connect with people and tell your story. You may think that your story doesn't matter, but every single step of your journey has led you to where you are today. Someone needs your gifts and expertise. Putting yourself out in video will help people trust you, it's like a magnet to attract the people who need you to help them. The 4 personality archetypes of video magnetism to refer to so powerfully use video to tell your brand story The archetypes help you assess where your true skills are, and where you can lead from with your strengths. Identifying the archetypes will help you discover which types of videos are best for your personality and your business model. Keep in mind that if a video feels hard, it isn't your style. As humans, we are all 4 archetypes. But one may resonate more than others. The Lover This archetype is all about creativity, self-expression, and desire. All actions are in alignment with self-worth, natural ability to convey personality, coaches helping creatives, dancers, artists, musicians, and those who are all about self-expression and creativity. The uniqueness of the lover archetype is your natural ability to convey your magnetism in your element. You don't need to plan out a well-thought-out video. As a lover archetype that won't feel natural. What works best is when you feel like it, pick up the phone and go live or record. It's the messy vulnerable shares that are most aligned with how you like to show up. This is the quality that shows your heart as you are and people will connect with you. Often label themselves as rambling, unscripted, unplanned, and messy all over the place and shouldn't be like that. But when you are in the flow of being you, people will connect with you. The Sovereign This archetype has a clear vision of what is going to happen. They have a clear plan and make decisions with ease and certainty. The sovereign archetypes are natural teachers and guides. Great at teaching and need structure. Structure lets them lean back on what they are guiding people through. Webinars can be really aligned with the Sovereign type, videos that are teaching and guiding. People who need clear direction will be attracted to them. Need bullet points. The Magician Responsible for bringing ideas and raw materials into the world and turning them into something beautiful, and beautifully orchestrated events. They can take the chaos of ideas and turn them into events, online events. An example is a food blogger. They do not care what other people think, they know the value they bring to the world. Their seemingly magical way of creating things that blow people away is what attracts people to them. Showing the step by step of how they create their magic, is what attracts their clients to the. Styles of video that work well are behind-the-scenes, time-lapse videos, and times when you can allow your audience a glimpse into your process. The Warrior Takes a stand for what they believe in and value and creates solutions to make the world a better place. They are natural rallies and get people excited about joining their mission or message. Warrior archetypes have an innate ability to convey and communicate and leverage their community and network in monetizing way. People trust them because they are so forthright in what they stand for and believe in. Beautiful video styles are interviews, and asking questions. Share behind the scenes, which builds trust. • How to use mental fitness activities to change your mindset with Marc Champagne
Like journaling, asking the right questions can shift your perspective and mindset. But how can you change your level of mental fitness for more positive outcomes? Mental fitness and mindset go hand in hand when we refer to brain health and the ability to experience positive outcomes in both life and business. Journaling is one way to nourish your brain and is ultimately reflection. Robyn suggested that as individuals we should wake up every day and ask ourselves how we can be the best we can possibly be, how can we win today, and then at the end of the day, ask ourselves what we are grateful for and recap the wins we had. The powerful questions that one can ask to improve mental fitness and mindset Questions are the pause from being on auto-pilot in life or work. A good question or quality question is well-timed for you right now and pauses whatever you are doing right now. The key is that people pause and take the time to ask these important questions. Kobe Bryant as an example, was so successful, because of his prompt, what do I need to do to get to the rim? It has everything to do with who he studied. He studied Michael Jordan and his footwork and where he was on the court. Asking the right question is about identifying who you can study in your realm to learn from and then adapt and be the best. Who are the best of the best that you can learn from? History lends opportunities to learn if we pause and ask questions. When pausing to ask questions, you give yourself a better chance to learn. If waiting until you are stressed, fearful, or anxious, you will not learn the same way because of a lack of clarity. If we are in a state of anxiousness, we may be experiencing mental pollution, be in a state of fog, and not be able to sift through to ask the right question or get the right answer. On the flip side of that, when we are motivated and life is flowing, that is the time to give yourself time and ask yourself bigger questions. Read the full show notes and access all links. • How this entrepreneur is helping to decrease human trafficking, the fastest-growing illegal industry with Dawn Manske
What do you know about exploitation and human trafficking? For many, these are topics that are only significant in other places, however, this is no longer true. And worse, they are the fastest-growing illegal industry. Dawn Manske has set out to increase awareness of this tragedy and help victims find dignified employment to break the cycle of vulnerability and risk. When traveling abroad in China, Dawn had the experience of seeing two major risks for exploitation and human trafficking, extreme poverty, and devaluation of the girl child. She spent time with orphans and loving on them. Many of them were girls because girls were often abandoned because of the cultural emphasis on male children. During her time in China, Dawn also discovered the risk of sex trafficking for the vulnerable poor population. Men and sometimes women would go into towns and find the families that were most vulnerable. The 5 key components of exploitation and human trafficking Vulnerabilities - situations such as poverty. Procurers and perpetrators - people who are experts at identifying vulnerabilities. Exploitation - taking someone by force, fraud, or coercion. Rescue and restore Return and reintegrate While Dawn was living in China she met people and saw the effect and impact of extreme poverty and devaluation of the girl child. When perpetrators go into poor villages and tell families that they will take their children to the city and they will make a lot of money to send back home to them, the families don't realize that it is a lie. The children are brought to big cities and used for slave labor. Read the full show notes and access all links. Are you looking to start a business of your own to help create an impact? • What subconscious biases do you have that you aren't aware of? with Alyssa Hall
What does anti-racism mean on a daily basis? It involves taking a deep dive into subconscious biases and innate prejudices that aren't recognized. Biases are prevalent despite the significant anti-racism efforts of the past. What biases do you have that you aren't aware of? It is so much better to be curious versus judging. We can't fully understand what others are going through, we haven't walked in their shoes. - Robyn Graham Anti-racism work is not about becoming color blind When people say they don't see another person's color, it is from a place of thinking you are just like me, and I'm not holding your color against you. But, in reality, what is also being said, is I don't see color, meaning I don't see the layers of your experience. It is important when speaking about anti-racism, to recognize that people experience the world differently. When color and differences in experiences aren't taken into consideration, it becomes difficult, or maybe impossible to support people the way they need to be supported. The experiences we have on a daily basis are what make us who we are. When we strip this away we lose sight of who the person actually is. It almost forces that person to shift into the version you see them as. This makes them feel they must mold or assimilate into what you expect them to be. One can't fully express themselves when suppressing who they truly are and it becomes exhausted. Anti-racism is not seeing a lack of color. Listen to episode 50, here. Making assumptions that we are all the same - stems from subconscious biases It is easy to make assumptions about a group of people, for instance, that they have the same cultural background just because of the color of their skin. Some common assumptions based on subconscious biases: That one person in the demographic can speak to everyone else in that demographic. Seek an expert to speak from an educational perspective. People of the same skin color are of the same ethnic background. Caricaturing a person or group of people who are of another ethnic background Stereotyping is one form of subconscious biases An example of subconscious biases and prejudice is can be found in the real estate industry. Appraisals for homes that are owned by a black person are going to appraise for less. The appraiser isn't a bad person, he is just bringing his innate bias into the situation of appraising the home. Biases come from a lack of knowledge and exposure growing up. They are most often unintentional subconscious biases. Therefore, we have to catch our brains and be conscientious about our thoughts and feelings about other people of different ethnic backgrounds. When we mention any group of people having bias, it is important to notice where the bias is originating from. If there is a difference in power between races or demographics, it can be dangerous because it can affect the wealth and outcomes of a person in a given situation. • How the food you eat influences how you think
Food is a huge part of most cultures. Yet, most people don't realize how the food you eat influences how you think, feel, and behave. What is Functional Medicine? Functional medicine is dedicated to getting to the root of the problem. Traditional medicine focuses on diagnosis and treatment, usually with pharmaceuticals. Functional medicine focuses on supporting the body more naturally in order to reestablish balance. If you aren't feeling well, lack energy, etc., functional medicine can be used to dive deeper into the root cause of the imbalance in your body. This is a scientific but more natural approach. Both gut health and hormones are critical for our overall health, including our mental health. Gut health in relation to how the food you eat influences how you think The enteric nervous system is housed in our gut, which means the gut is home to a large portion of our nervous system. In addition, the vagus nerve runs from the gut to the brain. This is how our body communicates either the flight or fight mechanism or rest and digest. The gut is regulated by the microbiome, bacteria in our gut, when the balance is off, the communication to our brain is skewed. And, when the microbiome is off, there is inflammation in the gut as well as in other areas of the body. When you are stressed, your gut health is not prioritized by the body. The gut suffers. Acid levels are altered and nutrients aren't absorbed properly. As a result, you can experience hormonal imbalances, inflammation, and a host of other things. This is why our gut health is so important. If you are struggling with mental health challenges, anxiety, brain fog, depression, or lack of focus, start with nutrition. • How to use relationship marketing to scale your business with Veronica Romney
Using relationship marketing to scale a business isn't a new concept. For years, way before social media, people were building relationships to build trust to increase sales for long-term success. If you aren't using relationship marketing to scale your business to the next level, now is the time to begin. What is relationship marketing? It's tapping into your existing community to learn what they think of your idea, to hear how they describe you, and for support and referrals. Being the CEO of your business Your ability to market and scale your business starts by being the CEO of your business and having a team to support you. When you want more and want to support more people, having companionship with like-minded people makes a difference. "You can start a business alone, but you can't scale it alone." - Veronica Romney Being scrappy vs. stupid when marketing to scale your business When moving from corporate to entrepreneurship, don't try to emulate the corporate business model. When you start a business, it is important to be scrappy but not stupid. What is scrappy? Deciding I'm not going to do all of the social media platforms, I am going to choose one and master it. Scrappy is going all-in with one platform and hiring a social media person to help gamify that platform. Stupid is being on all platforms and using them with a C- average across the board, not mastering any of them. The truth is you do not have to be everywhere. The 5 Cs of Personal Branding Clarity, cohesive, consistent, content, and community are the 5 Cs. Everything starts with clarity. Learn more about the 5 Cs. As an entrepreneur, you are the brand. What people think, say, and feel about us is going to influence whether or not they hire us or buy from us. It is so very important to have clarity on who you serve, the people you are meant to serve, and be able to truly feel fulfilled at the same time. Likewise, if you are trying to attract everyone, you will attract no one. Identify where your ideal people are searching for information on your area of expertise. When starting out, recognize that your first revenue stream will be your current contacts. The community that you already have. Relationship marketing is underutilized. There are so many different types of marketing, social media marketing, paid marketing, and tons of different types of marketing activities and channels. But the one that is often undervalued is relationship marketing, tapping into the people who already trust you and who will validate your offer and spread the word about you and your product or service. Your first-degree contacts will give you the feedback you need to move forward. Feeling icky about sales - use relationship marketing to scale your business and make sales easier If you are someone who does not like sales and the thought of selling makes you feel icky, here is a trick from Veronica. Tell the people that you know who love you, trust you, and respect you, about your idea and your business. Because they believe in you, they will spread the word about you. The people that know you, know your heart, integrity, and values, will tell everyone they know about you because they want to help you. By listening to how they describe you, you will get a clear idea of your branding. Write down what they are saying and how they recommend you. Hearing what other people say about you will also help you feel more confident and empower you. Read the full show notes and access all links. • How to price your product or service to increase profit margins with Ruth-Joy Connell
Have you struggled with figuring out how to price your product or service? This is a common challenge for entrepreneurs. However, if you use the 4 Pillars for Pricing, you can price your product or service with confidence that you will attract the right buyers and clients. How to price your product or service is dependent on several factors within your business, as well as your revenue goals. Charging your worth and value If you have a calling and aren't acting on it you are doing a disservice to those who need your service, and your help. Likewise, if you don't charge for the service you provide, you are doing a disservice. Why? Because if people don't pay for something, they aren't going to be as invested in it and won't act and do the work that will create an impact. Your knowledge, your value, and your time are worth charging for. If God is calling you to something, it is okay to charge for it. Even in the Bible people made money. The key is to use that money for good, creating a ripple effect of good in the world. How to price your product or service Robyn emphasized creating a pricing structure that is aligned with your soulmate client. If you price based on your soulmate client and their financial resources, you may not attract them. This will result in frustration. The Pillars of Pricing Note that each pillar builds on the previous one to position your business for profitability. Profile Understanding who your target client is. Whether this is an individual or corporation, referred to as a profile. Understand the problem, challenge, or goal this person/company has that you can help them with. Problem – something that is causing their business harm. Challenge – something that they are struggling to overcome Goal – something that they want to achieve. You want to have a deep and thorough understanding of their problem, challenge, or goal and what they have tried, and what worked and didn't work for them in the past. What are the key factors that influence their buying decisions and what they are considering about investing in the solution they are looking for? This pillar is foundational for your understanding of what you are selling to the company and what they need. This is foundational for your confidence and for creating content that helps them understand how you can help them. By doing so, you will knock down barriers of objections because they will be confident in what you will provide for them. When you do the pre-work the numbers won't matter, they will know and understand the value you will provide upfront. Positioning This refers to a company's ability to influence the perspective of others and the work that they do. Another level of positioning is prestige. Prestige refers to how you influence your buyer's perception of your business. Ruth Joy used the example of Walmart, Target, and Nordstrom. Each one of them targets a unique population. They make sure that their profile is aligned with their positioning. Each one has its own level of success. Likewise, they attract the people that they are going to best serve. • The Secrets to Raising Teen Girls with Colleen O'Grady
Raising teen girls can have its challenges, but if you know these secrets, you'll not only survive but be able to have a healthy relationship with your daughter. The secrets to raising teen girls are centered around communication. Staying calm amidst the drama Timing is everything. If your daughter is stressed, hungry, intoxicated, angry, or emotionally flooded, it is not the right time to have a conversation. Likewise, if you are in any of these states, it is not a good idea to have a conversation with your teen daughter. Give space instead of addressing things immediately. The contain the situation and talk later rule for raising teen girls Daughters are hard-wired for drama and are hard-wired to make mistakes. It is not personal when she acts out. It is a normal part of development. Therefore, it is important not to feel like a failure. Giving yourself time to calm yourself down is helpful for having a healthy relationship. Like with everything in life, it is important not to compare your daughter with other girls. Let them be who they are and discover themselves. Likewise, choose the battles versus focusing on the things that don't really matter. Perfectionism and raising teen girls As moms, we feel the need to be the perfect mom, and that our daughters need to be the perfect daughter. If we are feeling this way, we are going to make our daughters feel that we don't care about them, we only care about perfection. Drama kills the relationship. Therefore, it is important to dial down the drama to build a connection. Don't let the drama control the connection with your daughter. Be intentional about connection by dialing down the drama. If there is drama all the time, you will miss out on great moments with your daughter. Instead of being a monitor when raising teen girls, build in focused time to be present Get up, give me your phone, and go to bed, constantly being in this mode is just managing your teen. Take the monitor hat off and commit to being with your daughter for 20 minutes a day. Be the mom who she sees laugh. Be present for her at least 20 minutes a day. When she sees that you aren't always pouncing on her, she will let you in more and more of her life. Robyn emphasized that it is important for your daughter to know that she can come to you with anything and have a conversation about anything, versus them feeling afraid of being judged by us. This demonstrates acceptance of imperfection. Don't miss the moments when raising teens When your teen wants to talk or share something, don't let the moments go by without engaging with her. When you stop and listen, you will create amazing memories. Read the full show notes and access all links. • The key three for creating a personal brand with DP Knudten
How can you use imposter syndrome as inspiration when creating a personal brand? Let imposter syndrome guide you to be disciplined in differentiating yourself as a personal brand. Share how you are unique in what you do and how you do it by creating your key three. Creating a personal brand is about differentiating yourself, and not letting imposter syndrome hold you back from being visible as the expert you are. What is personal branding? Personal branding is differentiating yourself from all others in your area of expertise. The second job of personal branding is demonstrating who you are, what you do, and how you do it. What is imposter syndrome and what does it have to do with creating a personal brand? According to the dictionary, imposter syndrome is the persistent inability to believe that your success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of your own efforts, skills, or abilities. Many times, entrepreneurs see what others in their space are doing and feel intimidated. Likewise, they may think that because someone else is already doing something, there won't be enough clients for everyone. Similarly, people often feel that because someone has been doing something longer, they won't be as good or don't have the right skills. These feelings result in fear and anxiety, which ultimately lead to procrastination. Procrastination is inaction, equating to goals not being met and success not being achieved. However, if you truly differentiate yourself people will see you as the person that is meant to help them. What makes you you is what makes people want to hire you. Likewise, what makes you you is what gives you the expertise to serve the way you want to serve. Personal branding is about showing the world what makes you unique, you being you. Your experience, your story, and your voice make you, you. That is what personal branding is all about, owning what makes you unique and demonstrating that where you can.
