Well, ETH is alive and deflationary. 922,267 ETH burned and 617,739 ETH issued since the Merge. Over 300,000 ETH taken out of circulation and we are just getting started. Not to mention, gas prices are low and the network is secure. So, yeah devs are up to something.

Over at Swell Network, the Liquid Staking Protocol has hit $80m in TVL and closing in 50,000 ETH staked. Unlike other liquid staking protocols, (ahem, Lido), Swell is decentralized. A concept we’ve been hearing a ton about (and I’m sure you have too) is Account Abstraction.

Basically, instead of using metamask for your wallet you’ll have a smart contract wallet which can do tons of custom operations and can initiate / conduct TXs without the need for an EOA (aka MetaMask/signer).

We’re very bullish on AA.

Most of our network consists of builders and degens who are numb to bear markets after surviving for so long. This conversation was a first of its kind. Firstly, Worldpay and FIS are truly an institution, and one of the largest in the Fintech space with over a trillion dollars of settlement volume. Secondly, setting the limit of tradFi has let Worldpay break into Web3 with force. This is what we learned…

It starts with infrastructure. In fact, fintech companies prefer the ultra-technical term DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) to blockchain because blockchains are still cast in shadows, associated with the shady world of crypto making it untrustworthy to consumers.

This was key to another important realization from my conversation with Mina. Applications that try to change consumer behavior will not win. Consumers won’t change their behavior to fit your shiny narrative. Consumers trust brands, and have loyalty to products built by those brands because those brands know their consumer behavior. It is more likely end consumers use products from brands they already trust.

Change yourself before you try to change the world.

Lagrange Labs is a developer group hyper-focused on Ethereum scalability. As you probably know, there are two main solutions to scale Ethereum - optimistic rollups and Zk rollups. Lagrange is aware of mathematical nuances to make Zk rollups functional and interoperable multichain - we call them nested rollups.

This means Lagrange has a secure, interoperable, and multichain communication protocol to scale throughput on new and existing blockchain networks. It's difficult to describe Lagrange in simple terms because they connect several key components of Ethereum's roadmap to achieve mass adoption scale.

I have been so, so bullish on Account Abstraction since my first interactions with the StarkNet community.

Its very important that you understand why, and how this simple but complex feature will totally change the wallet experience for all new users in DeFi.

First things first, I believe a lot of the new users in DeFi will be onboarded through mobile-friendly applications that are much more secure and understandable than our current browser extension wallets.

Braavos is pioneering this, with their security pyramid, easy to use wallet UX and massive StarkNet community.
