Our eternal life is in heaven. On earth we live with the consequences of sin, aging, disease, addictions, death, poor choices, betrayal from others, and so on. And thus, we experience pain, loss, illness, death, disappointment, divorce, abuse, and other heartbreaking situations.
"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:6
In the book All the Promises of the Bible, the author Herbert Locklear found 7,147 promises from God to man in the Bible.
Below are 4 promises of God!
God can be trusted — Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
God will give you wisdom –James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God’s presence brings joy — Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
God loves me deeply, no matter what. — Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Have you ever struggled to hear the voice of God? Do you go back and forth wondering if the voice is actually God or if it's you?
In this episode I shared about times I thought it was God and I was wrong, times when I didn't even ask God but at the last minute he did what was best and then I share about three different times I heard God and How I knew it was him.
In this episode we explore 3 different ways we can know it's God speaking to us:
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10: 27
1. First step is to empty your desires & agenda
2. Study to see if there is actual scripture to back up what you are concerned about.
Below are well meaning statements that are based on scriptures but are not actual scriptures. So we really have to hide God's word in our heart so that we ensure we are open to what he wants to do in our life.
Cleanliness is next to godliness

Money is the root of all evil - The love of money Isaiah 55: 8-9

God works in mysterious ways. - difficult or impossible to understand, explain, or identify.

God will not give you more than you can handle
3. The final test is that there will be peace

Stop being tied to a result

Stop holding back something from God - An area He wants to bless

Make the time for God
Reasons we don’t seek intimacy more
We think we know better - Pride

We are afraid he will give us opposite of what we want

God just wants to punish us.

Heart Posture - What’s your motive to teach or correct - Or to show Grace?

Relationship or Religion - What’s the goal? - At the end of the day do you want people to understand Relationship or Religion. If you want someone to suffer consequences if you want them to be punished, you are following religion - We have to remember we’re not in charge of conversion, we're in charge of planting the seed.

Having joy includes feeling good cheer and a vibrant happiness. But joy, in its fuller, spiritual meaning of expressing God's goodness, involves more. It is a deep-rooted, inspired happiness
Inspired means it doesn’t just happen.
Inspire means to excite, encourage, or breathe life into. Inspire comes from the Latin word that means to inflame or to blow in to. When you inspire something, it is as if you are blowing air over a low flame to make it grow
The term happiness comes from the Old Norse term happ meaning “luck” or “chance.”,
“Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Happiness depends on a situation Joy is a choice and it internal. The world didn’t give and the world can take it away
The Joy of the Lord is my strength. So the gift or that moment may contribute to your happiness but it can’t be your source.
“And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!””
