Over the weekend, the ruling party, the RPF held its first National Congress in a few years. During the congress, the top most positions in the organisation were voted on by party members. These positions included party chairperson, the vice, the secretary general and other members of the National Executive Committee.  Why is this a big deal? Because, as RPF goes, so does the country.  This week, I shall talk about why this particular congress is so important for Rwanda’s future. 

On Thursday, Paul Rusesagina, landed back in the US after a few days in Qatar. He was released by presidential pardon, along with is co-accused, and had his sentence commuted. We shall discuss what this means for Rwanda moving forward.
