Today’s mission is 40 minutes, slowly building the distance while dodging dogs, crossing roads, and keeping an eye out for the Rail Runner.
Along the way, there are tumbleweeds, prickly pears, desert scenery, dry arroyos, distant snow-covered mountains, and a few curious evergreens.
A strange panic dream about getting separated from Norma on a bus adds a little Jackal storytelling to the morning adventure.
With the cameras, Sony recorder, Samantha in his ear, and plenty of improvised commentary, another Running Jackal episode is cobbled together from the trail.
