In chapter 3 of the book of Esther, there is a new character to the story. Haman the Agagite has just been made the most powerful official in the empire. All of King Xerxes’s’ officials are bowing to him except Mordecai. No matter how many times the palace officials bug and bother him about it, Mordecai is a Jew and does not bow to no man! Because of this, Haman plots against the Jews with a decree that cannot be undone.

Verse of the day:

Ecclesiastes 7:14 – Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realized that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

In chapter 2 of this series, we see the hand of God moving; because of his favor Esther is crowned queen. She still hasn’t told anybody about her nationality in her family background because her cousin Mordecai told her not to. Mordecai has become a palace official, and they keep to themselves that they know one another. Mordecai shows his loyalty to the crown when the king’s life is in danger.

The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness, all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. Psalm 25:10.

This is the last chapter of the book of John, Jesus has been raised from the dead and he shows up to the disciples for the third time.

In chapter 20 of the book of John, Jesus has risen! The tomb is empty. Mary runs and tells the disciples some of the disciples. See Jesus, but Thomas still doesn’t believe that Jesus has risen. Jesus will come and go throughout this chapter, because he has to ascend to his father in heaven.

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace, he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

How does knowing you are a child of God change the way you think about yourself?

Chapter 18 of the book of John is getting closer to the climax of the whole story of Jesus. Jesus is betrayed, Peter is cutting off people‘s ears, and Jesus gets arrested. As well as a few predictions, Jesus made are coming into fruition: one of them being Peter, denying Jesus three times.

How do you draw near to the Lord when he seems far away?

In chapter 17 of the book of John, Jesus is in the garden praying. He’s not just praying for his disciples, Jesus is also praying for all who will ever believe in him through their message. He prays that we will all be one, just as he and the Father our one. This prayer takes place right before Jesus is betrayed and arrest arrested.

These trials will show you that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold – though your faith is far more precious than we are gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Question of the day:

What testing do you sense in your life lately? Can you determine to be proven genuine in your faith throughout the testing?

In chapter 16 of the book of John, we learned that the advocate is coming when Jesus leaves this earth. He is sent from God and only speaks to us about what he hears from God. He is here to lead us, guide us, and provide wisdom for our daily lives and for the future. The world sin is that they do not believe in Jesus and soon at this point in the book of John, Jesus is about to be betrayed by Judas.
