It's hard to write a description when you're honestly just speechless. This story and this episode... you just don't want to miss it. Aly's spirit just shines wherever she goes, and her story alone has been such a blessing to so many for the last 11 years. However, today she approached the microphone from a place of celebrating miracles, but also from the middle of the story with lots of unknowns. She shares so much beauty in her testimony as she continues to glorify the Lord, but the way she shares today through the tears, clinging to a hope in things not yet seen... it's just amazing. That is her belief in a good and gracious God no matter what. What faith and what courage. I hope today's episode meets you where you are in your journey and in your faith in the hard seasons. I hope it's a reminder as we go into this Christmas season that while all else may change and even fall away, He never will. A Savior has come, and that can never be taken from us. Merry Christmas, Saltworks fam.Send us Fan Mail
Sometimes the last thing we're known for is our story. More often we're known for what we make it and the legacy we lead. This is definitely true of Jayme Stokes, and yet our stories make our legacies that much more powerful. She's been a mom, wife, librarian, teacher, grandparent, principal, and boss. She practices what she preaches, and she brings laughter into every situation. You will be moved by her story and the hardships she's overcome and you will be in awe of the faith she carries right now, today. Even though she did send me to the principal's office once over an honest misunderstanding we still can't be certain of who was right... I love her dearly, and you will too. Her hope for tomorrow is not in what tomorrow might bring but in who holds it. And parents, grab a pen, because you're going to want to jot down some parenting advice today!Send us Fan Mail
Five years ago we gained the sweetest neighbors, and I cannot wait for you to meet Jim! He is a retired golf pro, a servant, he’s kind, and he’s always moving. But what you might not know are the things he’s had to overcome in his story, and the truth that he’s clung to in his endurance. We talk retirement, overcoming, endurance, weaknesses, and where we ultimately find our identities. If you didn’t already know and love him, you will after today!Send us Fan Mail
She is a master at events, details, and organization, but I bet you don't know this part of her story. I learned from her today, and I learn from her every day because she's my mom! I've gotten to see her be so many things, wearing many hats and filling many roles, but today I saw her be brave and courageous to share. Come join us at the table as we reflect back on events in our lives, how God was present, and how he's done the impossible. She challenges us today to think back on what we'd tell our younger selves and where we see God's provision that we may have taken for granted. As we lead into this week of thankfulness, let's accept the challenge and look back on the timeline. What are the events that made us question Him, and what is actually true? Let's enter his gates with thanksgiving, and make habits of gratitude, praying for the impossible.

The man. The legend. Andrew Dye is on the podcast this week, and you don't want to miss it! While it's not his life story, it is sort of our story in marriage. Let's be honest, he will be a regular here NOT just because it's convenient, but because he's truly one of the wisest people I know, and the person I process things with the most. Today we talk over things we've gotten right in marriage and the many more we didn't. Introvert vs. extrovert. Internal processor vs. external processor. The 5 love languages. All these things go into how we view the world and how we view our spouse. Put this together with another person's completely different perspective and you have: marriage! It can be a lot to work through, and while we are no experts with much left to learn, there are a few things we've learned in our 11 years of marriage. We hope you enjoy this episode, that it sparks good communication, and if nothing else, reminds you that you aren't alone.Send us Fan Mail
That’s Dr. Emily Jones to you. Today on the Saltworks we're talking all things relationships. Proper attachment, vulnerability, honest confessions, and most importantly, how to make repairs in those relationships. But truly, is it any wonder that this episode is my longest, because Emily is one of my very best friends AND she has her doctorate in marriage and family counseling. Every minute was just good. What I love deeply about this episode and being friends with Emily is the way she can wear her counseling hat and offer her own vulnerability in the same sentence. She goes to hard, humbling places, but she does it with such grace that teaches me how to be a better mom, wife, and friend. You will love it and you will love her!

Things are a little different around here today! This week, instead of a special guest, we’re diving into a text to talk about what to do when we’re struggling with a passage and also to talk about waiting. I know, I know, it isn’t our favorite topic! But maybe that’s why we need today’s takeaways from the Canaanite Woman. She may not be someone I know personally, but her story is still one from the Saltworks, so I hope you enjoy! And don’t worry, we have more special guests coming soon!!Send us Fan Mail
Attention parents in all seasons!! I cannot wait for you to hear from my wise friend and mentor Cheryl White! She is a wife, mother of four, and an industrious woman. In the words of Andrew Dye, "Cheryl White could have been CEO of any company." And while this is entirely true, her faithfulness and dedication to all the small and behind-the-scenes tasks in her life is what has made her the most impressive and successful in my eyes. You will love her + leave so encouraged as she mentors you too through her story and advice! Turn this on while you do laundry, dishes, drive to work, and be encouraged because you're not alone!Send us Fan Mail
Oh, where to start on Blake Davis? I will not lie and say it wasn't a little scary to have my husband Andrew co-hosting AND Blake as a guest at the same time. I really thought I had my editing cut out for me, but don't worry, they were both on their best behavior. Blake is our Worship Pastor at our local church, he wrote the incredible music for this podcast, and he's involved in so many more areas of ministry. He meets every task with excellence, and he leads our church with such humility-- not to mention, you can't know him and not appreciate his sense of humor. This episode is full of encouragement in the hard parts of worship, clarity on what worship is, and advice on how to be obedient despite fear and trials. Plus, if you listen in, you may just hear whether it's true that Blake Davis tried out for American Idol as well as his settlement of a long-standing source of marital debate in our home.Send us Fan Mail
I am SO excited for you to hear from one of my favorite people on the planet! She is a gift everywhere she goes, and she’s the reason I’ve achieved my dream of having an English accent— but only when I speak French. She’s a teacher, a leader, a mom, a wife, a grandmother, a friend, and an overcomer. Pull up a chair, grab a warm drink, come for the English accent and stay for the wisdom. I know you will love my good friend “Madame.” https://www.bsfinternational.org https://laaid.orgFrom the publisher's feed
The Saltworks are the stories of real faith from real people in the real world. Saltworks by definition is a place where salt is refined as well as a job often viewed as drudgery. But it’s in the…
