In today’s episode, we have Dr. Jürgen Strauss as our guest to talk about his “Transformational Marketing Blueprint”.
He spent years in both the corporate world and small business world at the intersection of technology, science, human behavior, marketing, and business management.
His philosophy is making marketing human! Marketing blueprint is about building relationships with people we serve; marketing is about enabling people to achieve and excel; it’s about working with people. Their Map places marketing at the heart of the business and mirrors a hero’s journey taken by the customer.
A key part of their marketing map is customer retention; delivering exceptional experiences, helping them solve more problems, and having them share their stories. They work with clients on systems for encouraging reviews, managing reviews, and owning your online reputation.
As a podcast host himself, Jürgen has held meaningful conversations with hundreds of outstanding entrepreneurs from all around the world gaining insight into what makes them ‘tick’, what ‘lights them up’, why they do what they do and what inspiration and value they can add to the rest of the world. The InnovaBuzz Podcast published thrice-weekly is designed to help smart businesses that are committed to innovation, curiosity, service, and modern marketing.
Transformational Marketing Blueprint
1. Getting to know yourself
2. Dream client
3. Know the problem
4. Crafting your message
5. Building the connection
6. Delivering your promise
7. Continuing to nurture that
8. Scaling and repeating
Keep listening as we discuss these marketing maps!

In today’s episode, we have Loralyn Mears to share her career tips for those who are aspiring to become writers!
Loralyn Mears has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and she shares today the best practices as a scientific health freelance writer. She is also the host of the Women-in-Tech Like a BOSS podcast in which I also had the chance to be on.
Women-in-Tech Like a BOSS podcast - the whole point is to shine the light on all of these incredible women who are making a difference in so many people's lives.
Her Career Journey
Loralyn described her career in a very witty way and goes like “ If I would describe my career it’s like a hockey stick where someone scrambled all the way to the top very very quickly and then jump off the cliff, fell into the thorny jungle with laughing hyenas, clutter way out and now back on the street.”
In real speech though, she started off as a Ph.D. scientist only because her parents didn't want her to go to journalism school. After a while, she realized she’s not for it. She is so much happier writing and talking about concepts and translating those technical and scientific concepts across different groups. Along the way, she keeps getting pushed to sales because people say she's good at it. But that's what took her off the path but she quickly put herself back on track.
Writing as a Scientist
She works on the content marketing side, trying to craft different strategies and campaigns and all the technical and scientific bits that go along with that.
She goes from writing scientific articles to writing marketing campaigns in the life sciences. She worked with a lot of biotech, a lot of startups.
Keep listening as she shares her career tips and tools for setting goals!
If hard science thrillers are your thing, check out her newest novel, "COVID-19 The Battle for Humanity" which is now available on Amazon!

This is a surprise live with my guest here today, Jill. She is here to tell us a lot about her struggles in this little passion project she has: Save Restaurants, Feed Nurses.
Jill Cohen is working as a remote nurse right now in a virtual team with a group called One Medical Group, their primary care group. She worked in a hospital for twenty years and eighteen years in the ER. She wanted to use her degree in English and writing back into her nursing career so she started shifting gears.
She realized that she has this flexibility. She took what she knows and did a little bit of a passion project on the side. We are going to talk about her struggles in the messaging that she put forth and how that relates to us as writers. We will also tackle other essential things like what we write for clients, how we struggle with messaging, and how she overcomes that. But we're going to talk more about her passion project because she thinks it can really help many of the nurses in the frontline right now.
As the months of the pandemic started wearing on, Jill fell for the people who are still on the frontline who she’s not working alongside anymore, in harm's way, at-risk, being understaffed, and overworked. People are having a really hard time. She noticed that the efforts at the beginning of the pandemic, there are great efforts to help nurses and boost morale. There's a program that feeds the frontliners but in the next few months, it died down.
Jill thought that they need it now more than ever because we have months on top of months of more backbreaking work and that when you really need the boost, support, help, the show of recognition and appreciation. Just someone who’ll give you free food is of really great help and appreciation. So she came up with the idea to resuscitate those efforts.
She raised the money and connected with a local restaurant to give free food to the frontliners.

Thank you for whatever you can give! And please share with your friends. It helps spread the word and gives more people the opportunity to contribute. Let’s help nurses and restaurants to make this through the pandemic. Nurses are stronger together.

Welcome to another episode, Savvy Scribes! Today I'm talking all about the 6 different types of writing you can do as a freelancer. Let's deep-dive on each one of them, shall we?
Did you have to stick to one area?
I think not, I've done almost all of these types and in my opinion, it's better to mix these types of writing to avoid boredom, and it will let you see which one you don't enjoy and you do enjoy. I also think that it's cool because this is where you can expand your knowledge as a writer!
Pitching on all kinds of writing can increase your client load, and eventually, turn them into permanent or retainer clients.

What are affiliates, how you can apply them to grow your business, and how you can help other businesses by being an affiliate for them? Join Janine in this episode to learn some simple and practical tips to utilize them effectively!
What are Affiliates?
Most companies have affiliate programs set up for business owners and consumers to share their products. The company will give you a code that you can share with your network and from the sales you made, you will receive a percentage or commission.
Why are these affiliates profitable to your business? Why would a business give you a commission? Why should your business utilize it? Simply because it’s – MONEY. Aside from that, it will give you a chance to help and support other businesses as well.
Referrals are the BEST customers. The more referrals a business gets, the more profit it gains.
Using Affiliates Effectively
Of course, utilizing affiliates is also great for your freelance writing business. How can you do this? Well, it’s easy. You can do a referral system with your clients as an affiliate.
You don’t have to really call it or create a referral program to make it work. Talk to your clients after you’ve done a retainer for them for a while and think about those big projects you’ve accomplished with them in the past years. Try to discuss with them a promotion that you are currently offering.
Some affiliate platforms that you can use to set up your referral code:
Thrivecart.com
Samcart.com
Check out the following resources or products that Janine uses to utilize the power of affiliates.
Also mentioned on the show:
Scrub Haven – a family-owned medical uniform shop serving medical professionals.

Goal setting can be as simple or as complicated as you wish for it to be but with the right practices in place, it can help elevate your business to a new level of success and provide a base from which you can work to get there.
In today's episode, we have Inessa A.N. Sage, author, and a multi-passionate entrepreneur. We will be talking about goal setting and her insights and tips for authors or creatives. Better to take notes, folks!
Currently, Inessa is on her 9th book! And as I mentioned before she is a YA fantasy and sci-fi author. She is a photography graduate from Ryerson University, Toronto Canada, quite different from the career she now enjoys. She started writing while in school, like poetry and short stories, moved to New York to chase the art scene, and stayed there for a couple of years. But when she came back, photography has taken on a trend that she's not prepared for, and that made her realize that it's not her calling.
Inessa also worked her way up to managing teams, first in retail, then in a creative field, until she became a Senior Director. With her love for creativity, she quickly realizes that she wants to be one of the people who create and not the person who manages others.
She also tried her hands on Etsy shop, about planning and organization, which is not surprising because she's a confessed stationery junkie! But as soon as the shop started to take off, she ended up working a full-time job, that's when she started feeling burned out.
The positive thing that it did though, was to spark the creative need inside of her that made her start writing again, and then one day, she had an idea for a book, took a million writing courses, stumbled a bit, but she grew and became a full-time writer!
She still does freelance for a couple of clients to give herself a break from strictly novel writing, while rebranding her shop, and publishing novels. With three jobs under her belt, she is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, which is a good thing because you never know! Coronavirus shut down the world.
Keep listening to discover some goal-setting tips that you can realistically work through!
