The Schoch Factor

On this episode of The Schoch Factor Podcast, Stephen Schoch is joined by Rutgers hitting coach Mike Garza. Coach Garza is one of the great college baseball coaches who just gets it. He has had a lot of success in developing players, while still making sure to prioritize the love for the game and the fun that comes along with playing it. Coach Garza is one of those great coaches who isn't just in it for the wins and losses, but chooses to be around the game at this level because he knows he can have a positive impact on these players at a pivotal point in their lives. He knows that his coaching can go beyond just hits and home runs, but he can play a role in developing incredible human beings, and that is what college baseball is all about!

On this episode of The Schoch Factor Podcast, Coach  Schoch and Rooney  dive head first into what could potentially be the largest court case involving the NCAA in the history of the organization. There is a lot that goes into a case like this, so just sit back and allow Coach Rooney and Coach Schoch to do the heavy lifting in researching and sharing this information with you! If you make it through all the legal talk at the beginning, they also introduce a new segment of "would Rooney buy it?" where the Big Donkey makes some NIL proposals to Coach Rooney to see if he would buy into different hypothetical NIL campaigns!

We learn a lot about the Wake Forest baseball philosophy from the guys, but my biggest takeaway was that they are a program that prioritizes having a good time. Playing at Wake definitely has a ton of benefits, and I love how they compete at everything they do!

On this episode of The Schoch Factor Podcast, Stephen Schoch and Mike Rooney take a look into the crystal ball and try to guess which players and teams we'll get the most home runs out of in 2024.
