Welcome to the "Big Business Guide to Ditching Hourly Rates" podcast! I'm your host, Sarah, and today we're going to talk about how you can transition from hourly rates to creating packages for your services. 

First of all, let's address the elephant in the room - hourly rates. They're comfortable, they're easy to understand, and they're what most people are used to. But let's face it, hourly rates can be a trap. You're only getting paid for the time you're working, and if you're not careful, you could end up pricing yourself out of the market or burning out from working too much. 

And I believe hourly rates are for lazy people, because the more hours it takes you to do a task, it’s gonna cost your client and when you’re really fast, hourly rates are a bad idea. 

So, what's the alternative? Creating packages! Packages are a great way to provide value to your clients while also ensuring that you're getting paid what you're worth. Also what packages allow you to do is to apply Smart Stacking in your business, which enables your clients to work with you from a low touch point to a high touch point, or in other words, to make the customer journey much easier and transparant.

One of my clients is doing several projects and working with different clients.
But this one project in particular is more draining than ever.
She really doesn’t like working for the project, it’s not aligned with what she believed in and the quality and never will be what she wants it to be.

But because she’s working in a group, she can’t influence the entire outcome of the project.

Sometimes I’m getting this question from one of my clients and I actually love it when I get this question for 2 reasons:

1. It means they’re open about money and how it’s going in their business and they’re honest to themselves (and me)

2. It’s an opportunity for them to see the magic of sales, because it is almost like waiving your magic wand.

When I’m looking at all my clients, once they put their energy towards sales, they will sell.
It is incredibly crazy to notice, but once you do, you will feel more in control of your sales and sales is the fuel to your business.
If you’re not selling, you won’t have enough money to withhold your business and you will have to close up shop.

I am not one to advertise with get rich quick schemes, I don't believe in that, but I do believe you sometimes need money and you can save this episode for once you do.
