  • Working in the porn industry with Alia Janine
Great ep with Alia Janine chatting about her time making porn. We chat about the different movies she made, what the atmosphere is like on the set, whether its a good idea to use condoms in porn, are people being exploited in the industry and whether its actually fun making the films. We also chat about her work as an escort and working in strip clubs. The episode begins with a catch up with Katie about some more porn that she has looked at. Sadly my SD card ran out and I didn't realise so that was cut short. Enjoy

  • Plastic Surgery chat with Dr. Matthew Schulman
Super interesting chat with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Matthew Schulman. We basically grilled Dr. Schulman about everything to do with plastic surgery. Why is there a stigma? How has the stigma diminished and why? What procedures does he do? Are there dangers and risks? How do you manage people's expectations? Is the increase of popularity a concern for society. The Role of Social Media in body image. Well worth a listen.

  • Fetish chat from the manager of the sex dungeon.
We had a chat with comedian Kathryn Henson who has an interesting day job as the manager of a sex dungeon. We had loads of questions about that because we didn't even really know what that is. It was a great way to learn about different fetishes that people explore. What do people get up to in the medical room, the wrestling room and the cross dressing room? Clearly some are more obvious than others. Kathryn is also a foot fetish model so we learned a bit about what is behind people who get turned on by feet. Finally we discussed a traumatic time from Kathryn's adolescence when she was sent to a teenage discipline camp that turned out to be quite the evil place. Super interesting episode with a great guest.

  • Emma Waldron on American men, PDA's and letting go of shame
We had a great chat with Miss Ireland 2010 Emma Waldron, who lives in NY these days. Her and Katie connected on being Irish living abroad and how that has changed their lives and also their attitudes to sex. We had a good debate about PDAs. We also talked about whether sending nudes is a good idea and what you need to watch out for when doing that. Emma asked Katie and I about where the wildest place we had sex was.

  • Deep into our mother issues with Natalie Aukar
We had Natalie Aukar out to Westhampton to chat on the pod. We hadn't intended to continue our exploration of our relationships with our controlling mothers but as it turns out Natalie has a lot of issues with that too so we get right into that. What is acceptable in breaking away from our parents with love? Should we feel guilty? We look at the big problem of feeling bad about trying to live our own lives. We also discuss how to break from the hold of control while maintaining a relationship with the controller. We take a look at the shame that our parents sexual messages leave with us also.

  • Loving yourself, "Terapy" and Maura
In this ep Katie and Des have a chat inspired by the Esther Perel Ted talk that was mentioned on last week's ep. But before they get into that Des has to chat a bit more about his love for Maura. Of course Des respects his buddy Curtis but he has huge admiration for the national treasure that is Maura Higgins. We cover topics like whether "emotional cheating" is a thing, being separate but together in a relationship and how being comfortable with yourself is a key to success in a relationship. The chat then takes a bit of a deeper turn as Katie talks about her fears of looking back on her traumatic childhood and whether "terapy" (therapy) is a good thing to do. She is extremely honest and its a great insight into what goes into being comfortable with who we are.

  • Joanne McNally on needing an emotional connection
Katie has the week off as Des had a chance while he was in Ireland to chat to Joanne McNally. Joanne is an amazing Irish comedian who has not been afraid to tackle tough subjects in her standup. In this ep we chat about sexual repression in Ireland, and how much of our feelings around how women behave sexually is down to shame vs nature. Are women trying to act more like men despite it not being good for them? What are the different needs for a woman emotionally in a sexual relationship? We re visit one night stands and Joanne's feelings about them. Its a great chat with our first Irish female guest!
