The Signal

It is mental health week in Canada and today we are spending the whole show talking about mental health. You will hear from community advocates about lived experience and we will talk about resources to help.

My guest today is independent MHA Paul Lane and today's question "What do you think about the current state of our healthcare system?"

Up first, it's mental health week and today is World Maternal Mental Health Day and we're going to talk about that.

There's millions of dollars being dedicated to childcare over the next five years. You've got both federal and provincial governments working towards a better system.

We've got science fair winners from right across the province to talk to. Grades 8 to 12, biofuels to bioinformatics.

First though, it's Mental Health Week. A time when communities, schools and workplaces rally to celebrate, protect and promote mental health.

In just a few days, the Islamic festival of Eid will mark the end of Ramadan. Celebrations are in order, but how are they experienced among different cultures & traditions? That’s our conversation for today.

As the war in Ukraine continues so too does its humanitarian crises. Millions have fled their homes in search of safety. How this province is helping Ukrainians, and how Ukrainians are helping this province.

First up tho, an initiative that recognizes and honours those who serve and have served.

We are asking you what do you grow? What do you harvest? Why you do it?

There's a lot that affects the cost and access to food these days. Today on the show we are looking locally and we are asking how can we better share the harvest?

This province has an aging and according to the last census, a shrinking population. Immigration is part of the plan to boost numbers, we can bring people in, but will they stay? If not, why not?

Today on the show we are talking tv watching and we have a couple of great binge watchers lined up! We'll talk about what they've been watching.
