The Skeleton Boys

Embalmed hand! Group of teens! Contacting the dead! This week, the boys open a door to the spirit world, only for it to want to TALK TO ME!!

The plausibility of TALK TO ME, is something that sets this movie apart. A story that is built on trauma and a familiar coming of age tale. But is TALK TO ME all concept or an example of successful genre ingenuity? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 10 season 2 of FROM and an overview of the Second season. And so much more!

Possessed child! The Vatican's chief exorcist! centuries-old conspiracy! This week the boys head to Italy and help Russell Crowe become THE POPE'S EXORCIST!!

I must say, I'm here for when popular actors get into genre movies. The idea of seeing Russell Crowe read rites, in a poor Italian accent, to a levitating kid, is very exciting. Him roaming the streets of Italy in a Vespa looking for espresso or gelato, is again too juicy to pass up.  But is THE POPE'S EXORCIST chaotic fun  or is it a CGI cartoon? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 9 season 2 of FROM!! And so much more!

Traveling strangers! Southern Italy! Middle of nowhere! This week the boys head to Italy for food and fun, but only to experience A Classic Horror Story!!

Meta horror is built into the plot of A Classic Horror Story. This genre can be brutal and claustrophobic but this movie is trying to subvert expectations while trying to follow its laid out formula. A Classic Horror Story wants to be a smart chilling entry into the smart meta horror genre but is it clever enough or just a missed opportunity? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 8 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

Two Edgar Allan Poe adaptations! A cheating wife! And a sleazy reporter! This week, the boys look into TWO EVIL EYES!!

George Romero and Dario Argento, two horror directors, may I say two masters of horror, tackle two short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. ("The Facts in the case of Mr. Valdemar" and " The Black Cat")The two segments match the directors styles, so depending on how you feel about the directors work, will probably color your enjoyment of the segments. But is this a lost classic from two horror icons or two stories that should have been left unmade?? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 7 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

A group of campers! unfamiliar forest! Survival horror! This week the boys are rangers trying to not be killed by THE FINAL TERROR!!!

The Final Terror is an unusual movie, part slasher, part thriller and survivalist adventure film. It's a movie that takes it time to get going before "deliverance" style tone takes hold of the later half of the movie. A horror oddball,  but is The Final Terror head and shoulders above its peers or nothing memorable?  Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 6 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

A shy young girl! Summer Camp! Twisted murders! This week the boys enjoy there time at Camp Arawak but after a series of bizarre violent accidents, will they make it out of SLEEPWAY CAMP!!

Probably one of the most notorious endings in American history, Sleepaway Camp is a B movie slasher with lots to say. Normally it's the opposite. Thats not to say there is pointless blood and guts, again it's the opposite. A real gem of a the 80s but is Sleepaway Camp a fun shocking ride or an amazingly bad knockoff of Friday the 13th? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 5 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

Resurrected corpses! Decomposing cop! Vincent Price! This week the boys chase down the dead who are committing crimes??? As our summer series reaches DEAD HEAT!!!

This movie may be the greatest zombie cop, buddy movie ever. This is not Shakespeare but if you like cheesy 80s horror this fits the bill. But is this a fun zombie cop movie or corny action comedy? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 4 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

Haunted home! Summer trip! Six schoolgirls! This week the boys head to the Japan and have a fever dream nightmare at the HAUSU!!

Hausu is a bizarre and experimental horror, that has unique plot and surreal cinema. Its impossible to adequately describe the movie fairly it's just something you have to see. Hausu is a trip but is it more than campy fun? Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 3 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

Prank gone wrong! An upstate New York summer camp! A pair of shears! This week the boys become caretakers of a summer camp, only to watch THE BURNING!!

A possible copycat of FRIDAY THE 13TH, however THE BURNING is a summer camp slasher with a touch giallo. Low budget slasher is nothing new but notably has the debuts of Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens. Is THE BURNING a shear delight or lesser known let down.  Plus in TV CORNER we talk about episode 2 of season 2 of FROM!!! And so much more!

A drifter and a young woman! Frist Love! Cannibalism! This week the boys hit the back roads of America to see its BONES and ALL!!

Bones and All attempts to combine romance and horror that is both beautiful and haunting. Much more than a cannibal movie, it evokes issues of mental illness and ones sexuality. But is Bones and All a sweet coming of age story or does it try to bite off too much? Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 1 of the second season of FROM!!! And so much more!
