The Skeleton Boys

Stardom! Ambitious farm girl! Devout mother! This week the boys go back to rural Texas and meet a girl with violent tendencies, her name was PEARL!!

An origin story to Ti West's X, was not something anyone was expecting. A small story but is anchored by Mia Goth. A period horror movie that doesn't pull its emotional punches. But is PEARL a dream come true or self indulgent mess? In TV CORNER we talk about episode 9 of season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

Ancient demon! Hassidic Jewish community! A summoning circle! This week the boys visit a morgue and fight off a possessed corpse in THE OFFERING!!

Nick Park's, THE OFFERING, reminded me of a mix of THE VIGIL and THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE. The movie surrounds it self in Jewish esoteric and mysticism. Very dark and brooding but does it rise above cliches?
In TV CORNER we talk about episode 8 of season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

Telekinetic powers! Cosmic Christ figure! Avian attacks! This week the boys, join John Huston, the intergalactic warrior, who battles somewhere between Hell and the darkest reaches of outer space-we experience THE VISITOR!!!

This Nonsensical Italian-made movie, rips off many better movies, only made watchable by the legendary cast: John Huston, Lance Henriksen, Sam Peckinpah, Mel Ferrer, Shelly Winters, and Glenn Ford! It's wild and unforgettable but does THE VISITOR soar or is this a below average fantasy movie? In TV CORNER we talk about episode 7 of season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

Woodsboro survivors! New York City life! Ghostface killings! This week the boys take another stab at Scream franchise with SCREAM 6!!

The Scream series returned last year with a requel. Scream 5 was quippy fun. Scream 6 is back and set in New York and with out series star Neve Campbell. But is it meta fun or over does the nostalgia? Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 6 of season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

House party! Aliens attack! Surviving the night! This week the boys cheer on some preteens who pew pew some aliens, as they witness KIDS vs. ALIENS!!

A spin-off film from the V/H/S franchise, "Slumber Party Alien Abduction". It has a DIY film style and tromaesque vibes. It really speaks to anyone’s 80s inner child. But is KIDS VS ALIENS a crazy B movie party or a party foul? Plus, no TV Corner!!! Yellowjackets was preempted this week. So the boys talk about video games and music.

Old apartment building! Two sisters! Possessing demons! This week the boys leave the woods to face the bloodthirsty deadites in Los Angeles, only to see the  EVIL DEAD RISE!!

EVIL DEAD RISES is loud and bombastic with violence that doesn't hold back. It's a movie that takes many risk and tries to honor the franchise differently than the 2013 reboot. EVIL DEAD series is important horror films/tv but was something missing? Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 5 of season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

A pregnant woman! Motherhood! Crunching bones! This week, the boys practice pediatrics without a license only to meet HUESERA: THE BONE WOMAN!!!

There isn't too many Mexican body horror movies that has a personal statement on parenthood and the agency of the mother. A intellectually penetrating film, by Michelle Garza Cervera, that has a sharp visual sense and a grounded story. Huesera is a raw personal tale but is there any real suspense?  Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 3 of  season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

Fed up girlfriend! unambitious boyfriend! Unexplained plague comes to North London! This week the boys had some much fun revisiting SHAUN OF THE DEAD!!

Shaun of the Dead is a superb blending of horror and comedy. Part of the Cornetto Trilogy, a zombie apocalypse with clever subtext on the genre. But Is this flesh eating fun or is it overrated? Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 2 of  season 2 of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!

A divorce! Disturbing behavior! A husband searches for the truth! This week, the boys don't want to get in the middle of a POSSESSION!!

A truly mad vision, is the best way to describe the movie. Scene after scene makes you think what the hell is going on here? Memorable performance and fucking insane film style but is this more shocking than enjoyable? Plus, in TV CORNER we talk about episode 1 of the second season of YELLOWJACKETS!!! And so much more!
